Tons of fitness videos promise the secret to fast fat loss… Then hit you with a “fat loss workout” that’d make a Navy SEAL throw up, a “fat loss diet” that repeatedly calls for boiled chicken for lunch… and lots of crying. If you’re not suffering, it’s not working. But what if I told you a simple walking method can help you lose fat faster than killing yourself with cardio? I know that sounds hard to believe, but it’s just one of four science-backed fat loss strategies I’ll show you to help you lose fat up to 2x faster—without losing muscle. And I’ve crunched the numbers to prove it.
0:00 – 0:30 : Why Most Fat Loss Plans Fail
0:30 – 4:04 : Adjusting Fat Intake
4:05 – 7:30 : The Walking Method
7:31 – 11:06 : The Accidental Deficit
11:07 – 13:37 : Unique Foods For Fat Loss
13:38 : What Results To Expect
The first fat loss strategy is adjusting your fat intake. For health reasons you don’t want to go below around 35 to 50 grams of fat per day. Here’s what I want you to do: Think about the fats you eat everyday. Cheese, butter, and even healthy fats like avocado. Starting tomorrow, cut however much you usually have of these in half. I want you to also check if you’re eating any high fat proteins. Try having just one of these daily, then for all your other meals, choose a more pure protein source from this list. And you can apply this same concept even when you’re eating out. If you just cut 1 fat source in half and make 1 protein swap, boom you’re saving up to 250 calories per day, which already speeds up your fat loss by half a pound per week.
And you can lose even more by combining it with the next strategy, the walking method. What most people don’t know is that instead of relying on a specific “fat loss workout”, a highly active person can burn up to 2,000 more calories daily just from NEAT compared to someone who’s sedentary. While cardio is great for your heart and health, it’s kind of just “meh” for fat loss. A much better approach I personally use myself and with our Built With Science clients is plain old walking. Now I’ve set a goal in my Built With Science app to hit 10,000 steps a day and it keeps track of it for me. But you can use the health app on your phone, and just aim for anywhere between 7,000 to 12,000 steps a day. But 30 minutes of walking is already 3,000 steps and for the average person can burn anywhere from 100 to 200 calories. Do that simple 30 minute walk every day and after a month you’ll lose an extra pound of fat, or an extra quarter pound of fat per week.
And you can speed this up even faster with a dieting strategy I call the accidental deficit. During your busiest days, rely on quick grab-and-go protein sources and ready to eat fruits. Then when you finally get home, have a big dinner of lean protein and vegetables instead of ordering takeout. Then, just go to bed before you start snacking. If you do this right, you could end your day eating as little as 1,300 to 1,600 calories. For most people this is a huge deficit and is why I do NOT recommend doing this “fat loss diet” more than once or twice a week max – and preferably on your rest days. But even just doing this once a week can increase your average daily calorie deficit by about 100 calories, and help you get rid of an extra quarter pound per week.
But this will work even better if you combine it with the last strategy for fast fat loss – eating foods that do the work for you. Most people don’t know this but your body burns a certain amount of calories just from digesting food. And protein is special because a solid 20 to 30% of its calories immediately get burned up for digestion, absorption, and metabolism – which is more than double any other food. As a result, studies have shown going from a low-protein to a high-protein diet can raise your daily calorie burn by 4–5%. For a 2000 calorie diet, that’s an extra 90–100 calories burned per day. It may not sound like much, but that’s like doing a 10 minute jog everyday, and can add up to a pound of fat loss every month. Not to mention all the muscle building benefits this has as well. So take your bodyweight in lbs and multiply it by 0.8. If you’re not getting anywhere near that, then bump up how much protein you have in each meal to get closer to that target. And if you’re already hitting that, great, focus on swapping your processed foods for whole foods high in fiber and resistant starch.
Put all 4 strategies together, and even being conservative with the numbers, you’re looking at an extra 1.2 pounds of fat loss per week. That’s over twice what most people manage on a typical diet.

4:54 bro on the right has never held a coffee cup in his hand and has never worked a desk job in his life
I am 176 cm and weighing 80 kg. My weight is fine, but I've belly fat. Everything else looks like I would some sports sometimes. Would this help me too to get ride of my belly fat but keep my weight?
In my defense, I lifted a lot of Doritos…
As much as I love chips, that is not a fair trade-off 25 minutes of working out like that just for a handful of chips?
2:15 yeah… i just realized the atrocity i've been eating delightfully with salt.. 😭 I can never un realize this when I eat balut now..
Plant based protein count?
Thanks for the video.
Any recommendations on how to increase protein intake while on a calorie deficit? Someone please help me lol
I have heard that the extra calories burned from eating protein are already accounted for when saying that 1 gram of protein is 4 calories 11:43
The problem I often have with this is – getting 150 grams of protein while maintaining a 1550 calorie intake- how am I going to get more fiber and not add on too many extra mini calories like sauce, fat to cook it in, coffee creamer and a glass of wine with dinner? If I had a solution that was easy to maintain I would happily do this.
Thanks!
If your not trying to be an influencer, ifbb pro, or model.
Please dont eat chicken that looks as sad as it does in the video.
You can be in great/amazing shape by just eating healthy, and working out but without it looking like sad plain chicken with a bit of oregano sprinkled on.
Hit or strength training followed by a clean diet
Wait a minuuute. I was just listening in the background and I heard you say you're half Filipino??! How did I miss that all these years????
UY PILIPINS!!!! 🇵🇭🇵🇭
I love your channel! It’s been helpful in my journey to clean and healthy living. So pleasantly surprised to know you’re half Filipino!!
2:33 that's diet was creepy
Ever since a month I've been eating like 400-600 calories intake daily lol. Yes that's right, 600 max, everyone goes crazy on me and tells me it's impossible for the body. Well here's my routine…
– Wake up 3 AM or a little earlier, eat 2 scrambled eggs or small greek yogurt vanilla flavor or a banana then go to work 3:30 AM.
– Break at 8-10 AM, eat veggies.
– Home at 1:30 PM, eat veggies + 2 or 3 medium sliced chicken breasts and that's it I don't eat anymore for the rest of the day.
– After meal start walking right away so 2 PM to 5/6 PM, free to work out, I walk on incline for an hour and a half then will start other exercises if my core allows it.
– 6 PM to 7 PM my free time.
– 7+ PM bed time to catch at least 7 hours of sleep before waking up next day at 3 AM then repeat. And it's important to not eat hours before bed time.
So there you have it lol. I do feel hungry sometimes but not always. In the morning I'm busy and focused with work while afternoon I'm busy and focused walking and other then comes bed.
I'm 39, 6'0", man, 225 lbs. I just want to be skinny fat lol, not really carrying about muscles as that is optional for me. Hopefully I will shred continuously in the following weeks and more.
Love the balut shout out humor haha
Gotta be rich to be paying for Guac and then taking out half
Walking is king. I walk 40 mins to and from work. Started doing it after I lost my bike key at work. Had to walk back. Put a audiobook on and started walking. Now I do it for fun. Great for fitness. Went from 118 kg to 110 kg so far as a 2.02m guy.
how can 8 chips have 250 calories?!?!?
Your physic is exactly the one I’m building myself to have with a wide back.
Great content as usual.
Easy to digest proteins, like hidrolised whey protein, would also work for item 4?
You know it aint serious when they using an ai cal scanner lol
As soon as you started talking about cardio I could hear Coach Greg “bullshit! Buy my friggin cookbook!”
You mention balut… Are you filipino?
the secret isn’t doing something amazing once—it’s doing the simple things often enough that they become impossible to ignore. 👏🔥
discipline isn’t loud, but it keeps receipts. every small effort eventually shows up somewhere. 👏🔥
the gap between goals and results is usually filled with consistency. not exciting, but that’s where the magic hides. 👏🔥
the compounded route is basically the only option if you're cash pay and not waiting forever for brand prices to drop. ended up going with NewSelf because the flat $99/mo was way easier to plan for than all the "starting at" pricing everywhere else, shipped fast and didn't need a video call which was nice
you are an angel. I am starting on your plan right away. and I think it will bring me out of depression fast and improve my relationship with food. Long Live Angel 🎉❤
I’m also half fillipino
Fat is the nutrition of the brain………….
I started using smart watch for science just to see how much steps am doing per day while working @ my job place and oh man yestarday i made 20k steps on an ez day, which was mindblowing to me coz i had no clue that am making those amounts of steps everysingle day. Actually crazy, but am glad that am doing the right thing.
I want to eat healthier, but I already have a 19.1 BMI. How do I fast longer to help with insulin resistance? I walk a good amount already. I'm 5'5" and weight 115 lbs but am getting belly fat back on my gut. How do I maintain my weight but eat healthier? I dropped down to 110 last year and my Dr said I was heading into being malnutrition. I'm confused by all this diet stuff. Thank you. I love ice cream but if I stop eating it, I lose more weight than I want to. I have high cholesterol and triglycerides and am working on lowering them without taking STATINS. Statins cause me severe body aches and joint pain. I have stage 2 CKD so I have to watch the protein levels I eat.
