Love the end 🎉❤❤❤ other side is much better. I got into bodybuilding during perimenopause to learn how to work with my body better during this stage 😅 was sick and tired of feeling sick and tired, and weight gain. Love my lifestyle now. Recovery certainly been key and protein, high intensity. No longer have sweats and other symptoms but at times takes much longer to recover from muscle soreness. Im going to add in more cold therapy to help with inflammation. Anyone else do this?
Amazing thank you.
Wow… This is me… I didn't change my diet significantly and I got higher bad cholesterol and an increase in a1c.
🤷♀️ I’m 66. Had 2nd child at 40. I’ve been overall healthy. I’m a gardener, raise chickens for eggs and have spent years outside BUT here I am after a car accident and I tripped over my crazy dog and I’m now dealing with osteoporosis. I got nothing from Drs except I want to put you on calcium. Menopause has been hard and frustrating. Finally I’m hearing how to fight back. Thank you!
It's interesting how much sleep and stress get overlooked in these conversations. Cortisol dysregulation from poor sleep can undo a lot of the work put into strength training and nutrition. Curious whether sleep, training, or food tends to move the needle fastest when women start addressing all three.
My mom had zero hot flashes, and I've never had them either. I believe it's highly genetic and yes, diet-related. My symptoms get so much better when I eat a mostly plant-based diet with high fiber.
Is that true that’s there no evidence that HRT doesn’t help prevent dementia? I thought it did!!
Absolutely you can get a FSH blood test to see if you oestrogen levels are declining ,then get into the resistance training and the VT D K2 ASAP !!
Good information. I would just add that it is symptomatology, not symptomology.
I lost all my muscles everywhere now including pelvic prolapse. Scared. Im oure bones. Awake 2am for day with racing heart
so much of this I wish I had known all this 10 years ago.
Im 47 i weight train and do cardio. Im not changing, only gaining. Ivw a very stressful job and tKe 1/4 of a sleeping tablet every night.
Im over gaining weight. I try to eat well, .
So my cardio how long should i do, 15 mins of hard hitt interval?
I'm at my wits end about all the weight gain and nothing I am doing working. I went from sailing through fairly smoothly to one day waking up to hurting, stiffness, weight gain that doesn't respond to anything. I realy REALLy wish there was a doctor in my area I could trust to be up to date on the science like you. Someone who won't brush me off.
It feels like a second puberty
👏👏👏
These videos only focus on weight gain in perimenopause. Some women lose a tremendous amount of weight. I've gone from a size 12 to a size 6 in about 10 months. And I can't find ANYTHING on the internet that's talking about this. And yes I've done all the tests, etc and nothing's wrong with me. But I'm STILL loosing weight even though I'm eating ok.
I am 51 . Perimenopause has been detrimental , with debilitating insomnia, fatigue and mood changes. Regular relaxation (Yoga, Pilates and meditation) and, cardio and strength training are way to go for. Thanks dr Simms for all your expert advice and reassurance.
How do you know if you need HRT
I took her menopause course and it blessed my whole life, the women I get to train with and my clients. She’s a beast!🔥💪🏾❤️🔥
Love your wisdom and care for women thank u Stacy!!❤
Finally, a realistic approach! 🎉
I'm in my late 40's and only realized that this was happening to me (peri) less than 2 years ago. I am BEYOND grateful to live in a time where this info is available to us. My doctor is feckless in this regard and it pisses me off to have to self-govern but here I am. I've implemented everything Stacy says and look forward to beating this thing as best I can without hrt. Thank you for the info!
I’m 41 years old, 170lbs, 4”11. have strength trained here and there never lost any weight because i didnt follow a diet but i did get stronger. As of mid year my periods began to be irregular. It began at the end of May, i didn’t get my period for June, but i did get it in July, then it skipped August and came back at the end of September. I asked my doctor about testing for perimenopause and they said my test were fine I’m too young, but as of October I’m getting hot flashes and as of December i have not had my period. Since i had my kids i have had a belly, but these last couple of month i look like I’m pregnant that’s how big my belly is. Please help me get in shape.
