  1. Popcorn kernels are naturally non-GMO and have not been genetically engineered.
Hybrid popcorn is selectively bred but not genetically modified.
Non-GMO or organic labels provide assurance for both kernels and added ingredients.
Conventional popcorn may still involve pesticide use, so organic options are recommended for those concerned about chemicals.

In summary, you can enjoy popcorn knowing that the kernels themselves are one of the few maize varieties that remain GMO-free, while paying attention to labels if you want to avoid any GMO-derived additives. No butter or salt.

  2. As long as you're not gorging yourself on the stuff every day, I don't see the problem with making it however you like actually. It's good and healthy, and we're talking more or less fat, and more or less salt. If you're not fretting over how you make oats with some combination of butter or peanut butter, and salt, then I can't see fretting over the popcorn. Alright but I will say I've only recently heard about the ill-health issues with the microwave packages. Like everyone I've had some of those but not many, not like a real habit. I actually had popcorn entirely out of my head for perhaps 15 or more years until only recently, but I remembered I liked it before so I'm now having some every day. What I wind up doing is treating it more like bags of chips as a side for lunches, and not so much something to eat along watching a movie. So that means I don't eat tons of it in a day. I have gotten an air popper recently and it's a good way to go about it, but for myself, I am going to go back to the old-fashioned stovetop/oil in pan with lid prep some of the time just for a change of pace with the flavor and texture of it.

Oh yeah, and I don't give a hoot about low-carb or Keto, and I do not think it's a wise way to eat either. I see Keto as a fad. I also don't see Keto a conducive to proper exercise.

  3. buy Orville Reddenbacher's popcorn … the label says 3 table spoons = 130 calories and THAT amount is a FULL BIG BOWL of delicious popcorn! i eat TWO bowls with BUTTER every day! … my blood pressure: 111/ 60 … resting heart rate: 59 … I'm 73 years old … last blood tests a few weeks ago show me way UNDER any risk for diabetes … other tests were "clear" too! and in one year i've gone from 216 pounds to 172 pounds on the OMAD diet WITH popcorn!

  4. It really depends on what you're spraying on the butter. I use a little bit of butter spray on it and a little bit of salt. There's something wrong with that and it still keeps it pretty low carb

  5. I pop using coconut oil and add Baja sea salt with grass fed butter. The key is to pop only about an eighth of a cup of kernels and share with your spouse or friend. You can add fresh garlic or turmeric powder for nutritional flavor.

  6. I'd prefer not to find snacks that work in my diet, but rather to fight the urge to snack altogether. I had gotten into the habit of grabbing something each time I wondered into the kitchen, even though I knew that I wasn't really hungry. So, my Rule 1 is "Stay out of the kitchen." Reminds me of a joke I heard in which the first rule of avoiding shark attacks is never "Stay out of the water." I really do enjoy your videos. They're never preachy and seem sound and rational.

  7. Use a nonstick pot, heat it on medium-low for about 2 mim, by the third minute the fist kernel willpop… once the first 1 pop, about 3O secs later the rest will pop. No need for oil or anything.

  8. Air or glass microwave popcorn popper without any topping .It’s the only thing that I can eat to keep me away from chips crackers and other snacks with lots of salt and sugar .

  9. Is the olive oil pump that you demonstrated the same as the spray olive oil that I can buy at my local market or is the one at the local market not pure?
