  1. I fast on only my homemade meat stock, traceminerals powerpak electrolites, water, and coffee and can go about hrs. I'm also 126 lbs and need nurtition. I did lose 90 lbs in 1 year cutting out gluten, dairy, and fasting. Keeping it off using the GAPS diet and 16/8 intermittent fasting with very little sugar for life!

  2. I do OMAD or 20:4. How do I distribute protein intake to maximize muscle development? Sometimes I’ll eat 80-100g in one meal, but I know that’s not recommended. I love to fast and don’t want to go back to 3 meals a day just for proteins sake. Any insight appreciated!

  3. Thank you! 72 year old female, here. Have been IF again for 4 months, weight loss stall for the last 2 months. IF used to work, but it v seems to not work anymore for weight loss. I do feel better, though. More energy, able to exercise some. I'm also on relatively low carb diet, no grains and no pulses. No sugar. Very very low dairy. Low fat because I don't break it down easily. Thx for the vid. At least I know it's not unhealthy for me to IF. I previously did IF over a year ago, for a year. In conjunction with full keto. OMAD. Lost weight for about 5 or 6 months and then stalled for 8 m9nths…no change. Then gave up. 😮 but I do feel better with IF.

  4. I became very much overweight a few years ago, did sports, adjusted my diet and left out most carbs.IF helped me a lot. From 90.5kg I lost 30.0kg and have kept it off for many years, I'm turning 72 yrs soon.I do steps as well and feel amazing ❤

  5. I am 68. I started intermittent fasting 3 years ago. My go to is 16:8. I initially lost 20 lbs in about 4 months. I kept it off. I will come off of the fast for the weekends sometimes, vacation, etc. I am active with walking daily, strength training, dancing, gardening, etc. I got to a plateau and I was not happy. I am currently going to try the omad for 1 day per week for the next 30 days. I know that I must eat clean, I have already given up a lot of sugars products like sodas, I do not drink coffee on a regular basis, I rarely eat bread. I need to cut back on pasta, I have cut way back on chips for the second time, and I want to see my results in about a month.

  6. I have been intermittent fasting my whole life, long before it had a name and when it would merit critque as "skipping meals". In menopause I had difficulty for a time as I would get migraines if I skipped meals. But I have discovered that peanut butter which contains aflatoxins and tyramine were the main cause and I also must watch alcohol. Now I fast from 2 am to 5 pm or so. I only drink coffee and teas. All my life this has kept me at a healthy weight. Of course dailt exercise is needed. It's incredible after all these years there are studies and corroboration about the value of this. I consider this skipping meals and I think real fasting means much more, only water and for longer periods, but of course people now like to extol "fasting" as a kind of health buzzword.

  7. trying to get my mom to fast but she keeps saying it wont help even though she's never tried it smh .. she is playing the age card and saying she's too old to fast =[

  8. I'm a week into a ketogenic carnivore OMAD just for fun & after an indulgent Xmas. Lost 2 kilos, so much puffiness & feeling energised & focused! I would imagine it would be a bit of a rough ride coming from a standard diet to OMAD. It has been a super easy transition from a fatty carnivore diet. I don't think I'd manage any kind of IF if I ate any carbs.

  9. 50 year old and I started IF few months ago
Didn't used to get sick have a very strong immune system
Now after IF I've gotten sick several times in a few months gap.
Wondering if I'm doing something wrong or if I should stop
Don't want to stop cause IF has kept my belly controlled
    Appreciate some advice

  10. I'm almost 60, am pretty lean, and have been doing IF for over a year, starting with 12 hours to 20 hours in the past 5 month. I still have that belly though, and I've also started loosing some muscles. Please advise how I can maintain the IF, and not loose muscle weight. Thanks!

  11. Thank you. Started my first try at IF today. Doing 16/8 to start, non-keto. Would like to work toward 20/4 in the next two months or so. Goals are to lose about 50 pounds, decrease inflammation, decrease fibromyalgia pain, and help with loss of proprioception.

  12. I am 52 and been intermittent eating for about 3 to 4 yrs now. I have yet to reach my goal of losing 25 pounds. I exercise and I am active. I change my plan often but the weight is just not coming off. I don't know what else to do. I put in a 24 every once in a while but thinking maybe I should do one every week. Help! I am not pre menopause and because of a condition I have will probably not go thru menopause like most women, I might not go thru it at all. I'm getting frustrated and trying not to do the cosmetic options(lipo).

  13. I lost 25 pounds in 2 months IF by not eating my high carb breakfast and waiting until lunch. I lost belly fat and thought I'd be sadly overweight over 55 because of menopause. I learned how my body uses sugar and carbs and although not doing Keto, it helped me a great deal. The 500 cal twice a week didn't

  14. Doesn't seem to work if you are a lifelong weightlifter and have a high rate of muscle in post menopause. I'm 56 and have done OMAD for several weeks in full blown carnivore at 1000-1200 calories for weeks on end and those last 20 lbs I never had an issue with won't go away. How many if you can drop and do 142 pushups? How many of you workout 5 days per week for an hour with 48 hours recovery between heavy lift days (I routinely do single-arm ball dumbbell chest press with a 65# dumbbell. I lift heavier than your average young man. I was 110 lbs at 5'6" at age 25 and ate constantly and anything I wanted. I was the girl that guys would try to see if they could use just their hands to get all of the way around my waist … and they could. I've been athletic all of my life and I hate this new post menopausal body and no matter what diet you throw at me, it works at first and then stops working. My body adapts immediately and my insulin levels are low, all panels are normal and I actually loathe fruits and other carbs. My body rejects grains and I once was given a banana by a co-worker and had sharp stabbing gastric pains. I have kidney stones so it's not eating too many nuts which have carbs. I eat none. Free range eggs cooked in 1 Tbs. grass-fed butter, 1-2 oz. of cheese and a handful of broccoli is typical if I try 2 to 3 meals. The same at 5-6 eggs a cup or more of raw or cooked cruciferous greens because, again, I have kidney stones, and sometimes a smidge of cheese or none at all. Nothing works. I thought I wasn't eating enough so I've tried anything from 2200 down to 900 cals and nothing works. If you workout hard, 20 hours if fasting is all you can do to perform. I wish someone really knew what they were talking about.

  15. Good to know. I’ve been fasting on and off for the past year. I just started fasting again but this time I’ve decide that I am going to be more committed to it because of the long term health benefits. Thank you for the confirmation that fasting is good for women over 50 it makes me feel so much more confident with my decision.

  16. One thing I would like to see addressed on fasting videos is the question of estrogen and fasting on women past (sometimes WAY past) menopause. One YouTuber, Thomas deLauer, said "estrogen shoots up during fasting." I would like to see that expanded upon, and the implications of that. Also, what to do when you want to fast for health but are already of rather low weight. Thanks!

  17. In August of 2018 I turned 63 and my husband left me I'm sure in part because of the way I looked. I was skinny and beautiful when we met 23 years ago. I had quit smoking, gone through menopause and gained 50 pounds of what I lovingly call "old lady fat"…… And it was mostly belly fat. After he left me, I took inventory of myself and our marriage, and determined that I was going to win my husband home. I made a lot of changes aside from the physical ones, including the way I think about some things. I began eating healthy breakfasts and lunches, replaced all liquid intake to coffee and water only. When I craved a snack, I ate watermelon….. every….. single….. time…..! I fasted once to twice a week and eliminated dinner from my diet. I lost 25 pounds which was huge! I looked great….. not quite as great as when I was 40, but great nonetheless. I had energy that I hadn't had in a very long time, AND in January of 2019, my husband came home. You don't have to spend hours in a gym to look and feel great, but I wholeheartedly agree and support intermittent fasting with healthy eating, drinking lots of water and eliminating dinners.

  18. I really appreciate to know if intermittent fasting is the best way (belly fat, energy boost) of fasting. And if the latest, which length is the best (3 days, one week, 2 weeks?)
