Dr. Stacy Sims on How to Lose Weight for Women and Men | Dr. Stacy Sims on The Diary Of A CEO

The same weight loss plan doesn’t work for women and men. In this conversation with Steven Bartlett (The Diary of a CEO), I explain how the female brain and metabolism respond differently to stress, fasting, and calorie restriction, why women often lose muscle instead of fat, and the distinct nutrition strategies women and men need for sustainable fat loss. Watch now to learn how to fuel smarter, train better, and lose weight without wrecking your hormones.

  1. Dr Sims could you pls do a specific talk about significant weight loss eg 60lb for say a 60 year old woman?
I feel like lifting dumbbells made me fatter lol

  2. I remember wondering why some people seemed to transform their bodies effortlessly while others struggled doing all the "right" things. The more I looked into it, the more complicated it seemed. That's what drew me into Forbidden Body Secrets by Claire Valen. It challenged a lot of assumptions I'd carried for years and made me realize there was a whole side of health nobody talks about.

  3. All you need to know about weight loss or gain is portion control

    3500 calories equals one pound
Subtracting 500 calories a day times 7 days equals one pound lost per week
Try it I guarantee it works
To gain weight reverse this formula

  4. Dear Dr Sims some of us are on lexothyroxine and we can't wait first thing in the morning we need to wait at least an hour and 4 for diairy. Is my understanding that your suggestions aren't applicable to us?

  5. I’m wondering what is the best time to eat and things to eat before working out because I find eating before workouts make me feel really nauseous and I always regret eating before workouts

  6. My body loves fasting. If I do one meal a day for a few days in a row, I feel so much better. I sleep better. I am more clear-headed. I think it’s whatever works for you. Everyone is different. She’s one person. This is her opinion. There are plenty of people who have other opinions.

  7. It's totally unfair I lost my menstrual cycle for more than a year when I did all sorts of calorie restriction under the sun (the ultimate hit was clean pescatarian keto, my hormones noped out exactly after that). And the remedy was indeed very simple: just eat more calories and reduce exercise to encourage higher energy balance.

  8. i’m sorry I can’t take any advice from Woman looks like just came out from trailer. Look at her skin , face. I need to glow up not look like her, in her unhealthy, fuzzy hair is next level 🤭😂🫠

  9. I did the exact thing only to find out I had less body muscles and more body fat over a course of two years. I was so keen in believing fasting and fasted workouts because it did wonders when I had PCOS and other healthy issues, it saved me back to normal, but after that it seemed to do more damage than good. I would still do fasting for very short periods, probably few days over a season, but never going back to large calorie deficit again. I am gaining muscle at a very fast speed right now, I will leave losing body fat to a long term sub-effect, because feeling healthy and strong is much more important than that.

  10. Is it true for obese women too? Do women who want to convert the extra body fat into strong muscles, shall they also eat the same 30 g carbs and 15g proteins before strength training and for how long shall they train? 40 mins? 1 hr?

  11. Interesting. I've tried keto and IF and lost the weight AND a reduced lot of the peri symptoms. BUT….. I NEVER counted calories doing it. When I was younger, I counted calories and was ALWAYS hungry and gassy. Now that I've stopped the counting, I eat a lot more veggies and protein but much less carbs and it works for me. I can eat until I'm full. When I added exercise, I was actually getting toned, YAY! I think different things work for different ppl, u just have to find what works for u.

  12. some of what she preaches on every channel she's invited to is fairly accurate, but she is often being obscure, most likely intentionally since that's her "thing," so to speak (i.e., what she preaches). There is a huge difference between trained women and sedentary women, so well trained/fit women can totally store glycogen in muscle and liver; a trained woman's entire endocrine system/metabolism is much more flexible and sensitive.

  13. Thank Dr. Sims! Such a great interview! This answered my question why we don’t tap into fat stores when we train fasted. I really like the host, his recap was super useful! What is his name?

  14. So the old bodybuilder mentality of having a carby-protein shake post-workout should have always been my pre-workout 😂 Well that’s what I will change! I’ve never worked out on an empty stomach anyway, but sometimes a banana or oatmeal didn’t feel like enough for me ❤

  15. What if we are trying to loose the fat that was accumulated during pregnancies etc ? Intermittent fasting / skipping breakfast / eating later ok? Does feel better to workout on an empty stomach

  16. I love that I can easily find you on your channel and that you'll keep getting the well deserved recognition for your incredible body of knowledge. Thank you, you've saved me from endless and deeply frustrating bro-knowledge that doesn't work for me. And its so important that a woman is leading this new approach.

  17. Tried all the hacks. ice baths, preworkouts, even dopamine detoxes. none of it clicked. I felt so tired everyday. then someone dropped Testosterone Rewired by David Brooks in a comment and I checked it out. been locked in ever since. no hype, just clarity. wild how long I was running on fumes.🔥
