Day 20 of Weightloss Challenge 💪 What I Eat in a Day? Body Shaming a joke? #weightloss #shorts #diet

Day 20 of Weight Loss Challenge | What I Eat in a Day for Weight Loss | Don’t Normalize Body Shaming | 90 Days Postpartum Recovery Challenge

Day 20 of my 90 Days Weight Loss Challenge and Postpartum Recovery Challenge! Sharing what I eat in a day for weight loss while focusing on sustainable habits, balanced nutrition, and recovery. ❤️

Let’s talk about body shaming and the impact it has on women.

Recently, Jailer 2 has sparked conversations about body image and body shaming. Divya Vikram sharing screen space with Superstar Rajinikanth is a huge achievement. It must be a dream come true for her to act alongside such a legendary actor.

Divya is incredibly talented. Her acting is wonderful, and her dancing is so graceful. Through her hard work and efforts on Instagram, she has inspired many women, especially those who struggle with body image and confidence.

Five years ago, when I weighed around 79 kg, I had so many insecurities. I didn’t feel comfortable facing people outside. I worried about what others would think when they looked at me. I wouldn’t wear sleeveless clothes because I felt insecure about my body.

During that phase, seeing someone like Divya carry herself with confidence and dance so beautifully inspired me. She reminded me that our body size should never decide our confidence, talent, or worth.

That’s why scenes portraying an overweight woman constantly eating chips, drinking soft drinks, or eating all the time as a source of comedy can be hurtful. Many people have expressed disappointment about this portrayal, questioning why a confident and talented woman is part of a caricature that may reinforce body-shaming stereotypes.

My concern is not with Divya as an actor. She is doing her job, and she deserves respect. The responsibility lies with the filmmakers and the way such characters are written and portrayed.

Director Nelson, you have achieved remarkable success with films like Jailer and have the opportunity to influence millions through mainstream cinema. When making a film with a superstar like Rajinikanth, I hope you will be mindful of jokes that reinforce body-shaming stereotypes.

Being overweight is not simply a result of eating too much. Hormonal conditions, medical factors, genetics, sleep, stress, and many other factors can influence body weight. Even school-aged girls experience conditions such as PCOS/PCOD and thyroid disorders, and many are already struggling with their self-esteem.

When cinema repeatedly associates a bigger body with overeating and uses it for comedy, it can deepen their insecurities and damage their confidence.

Cinema has the power to entertain, but it also has the power to shape how society sees people. We can make people laugh without making someone’s body the joke.

Dear Director Nelson, please avoid normalizing body shaming through such scenes. Let’s create comedy that makes people laugh without making them feel ashamed of their bodies.

Every body deserves dignity, respect, and confidence. ❤️
