Today’s episode is a MUST listen.
You will learn the surprising science of women’s exercise and nutrition, the mistakes you’re making, and the simple changes that lead to better health and longevity.
For way too long, fitness and nutrition have been based on research done almost exclusively on men, and the women who have been following those strategies are left wondering why the fitness and nutrition guidelines don’t work for their bodies.
That changes today. In this firecracker of an episode, Mel sits down with Dr. Stacy Sims, a world-renowned exercise physiologist and nutrition scientist, to break down exactly how you, as a woman, should be eating, training, and recovering for your hormones, metabolism, and overall health.
Dr. Sims reveals why traditional fitness advice is failing women.
She talks about how intermittent fasting drains your energy and why your workouts leave you exhausted instead of strong.
She explains why fasted workouts, calorie restriction, and extreme cardio can actually make it harder to lose weight and what you should be doing instead to build muscle, burn fat, and feel amazing at every stage of life.
Ever wonder why men seem to drop weight faster than you? Or why your workouts feel great one week and awful the next? There’s a reason for that.
Dr. Sims will tell you, it’s all in your hormones.
Inside this episode, you’ll learn:
-Why women should NEVER train like men (and what to do instead)
-The #1 mistake you’re making in the gym—and how to fix it
-The truth about fasted workouts (spoiler: they might be wrecking your metabolism)
-Why eating too little could be making you gain fat—not lose it
-How to work with your cycle for better energy, results, and recovery
-What every woman needs to know about perimenopause and menopause training
If you’ve ever felt like your diet and workout plan isn’t working, this episode will change the way you approach fitness and nutrition forever.

Am giving your info to my health conscious granddaughter ….Waiting for info for me…a healthy 80 year old. Be 120/60; walk 3 miles often uphill, lift at gym….
I agree, I needed Dr Stacey Sims 50 years ago! She’s amazing!
Being physically fit is the new rich.
I am a 46 year old woman going through the menopause and all my life I never ever had to worry about my weight, I was always very proud of my body but in the last couple of years and since I was diagnosed with menopause I am ashamed of my body and since in the last year I have put on alot of weight in my back, bottom and tummy, my confidence is knocked to shreds, I wouldn't even be in a relationship until I lose this weight
Absolutely..a week long series on women’s health incorporating Dr Simm’s information/research!!!
I cant believe Mel , that you buy into this bull shit!
Cold plunge if you want, fast as you like ladies!!!🎉
Show us the science!
Where is the evidence????
I am 63, and the information Dr Sims is giving us is amazing and explains a lot in the way my body is reacting to the male diet… Thank you both for this!!!
Amazing! You have just changed my life too <3 thank you – so much respect!
That's right it helps me workout more when I eat something before exercise
I'm 65 and recently retired. I've started lifting heavy, doing sprint training, and adding protein coffee to my life. I'm feeling stronger , my clothes fit better, and I'm feeling much better about myself! Thank you
Thank you 😊
Omg!!! I have learned soooo much from this. Thank you Thank you.🙏🏼
Man, this is about the 7th time I came to press the LIKE button
Amazing amazing amazing information. Unbelievable, how for years we as women have been approaching exercise in a wrong way & instead of lifting us up & feeling better, many times we end up being frustrated. Thank you Dr. Stacy & thank you Mel for your amazing choices of guests to host.
Love from Jordan
Great podcast, I learned so much about the why.
Protein powders are synthetic junk with heavy metals. Would never recommend protein powders
Love her guests ……. Ms. Robbins, throw away those ugly black glasses they age you and I know it is a style right now but not great on you ..
Love my protein coffee, I also add collagen and creatine to my coffee
I hate pink. Won't wear it and won't buy it. I prefer the extra length of men's clothing. It's cheaper too.
I'm over 12 months late, but this has to be one of the best podcasts I've ever listened to. Dr Sims what a fascinating woman, at 53 & in perimenopause I've just joined a Gym "again" but wasn't quite sure what I was going to do this time round. Thank you so much for this, it all makes sense to me. Halfway through the podcast I bought Dr Sims book 🤗 Thank you Mel ❤ give me 6 months I'll be back with an update 🥰🫂
I’m very curious what type of protein powder Dr. Sims uses for her protein coffee
Thank goodness for these women educating us. ❤
I hate when hosts have a guest on for information purposes but then keeps interrupting them when they are trying to give that information.
I start every morning with a croissant. I can barely tie my shoes without food first.
What is a substitute in place of coffee to put the protein powder in?
😢😢😢😢como eu vou ser ajudade se tá fdo ingles
I use exercise bands for my strength training, taichi moves, and walking.
Wow!! Thank you for this podcast!! I Love how you started it off I’m knew to podcasts and you were so welcoming!!! So informative so interesting and Mel the way you go back and go over everything Dr. Sims is covering was very helpful!!! At 58 this is a bright lightbulb for me! Thank you so much I will absolutely be sharing this podcast with all my people ❤️🙏🏻💪🏻
My mother in law is 55, been skinny her whole life, she still fits in her wedding dress from when she was 20, skips many meals, only does cardio and has been diagnosed with arthritis, hypertension and fatty liver recently. My mom is 54, been overweight almost obese last 15 years, very active, never skips a meal and has perfect glucose, blood pressure, bone density and cholesterol. Weight or size shows nothing of how healthy you are
I loved the message in this episode. I cannot wait to change what I've been doing and start implementing these changes. I personally have been impacted by seeing hormones play a role in my epilepsy and the lack of clinical research done regarding HRT to aid in reducing seizures with women. I love that in the past couple of years so many are coming forward to shed light on how women's bodies need to be treated differently.
What Happens if you have to take thyroid medicine first thing in the morning and you can’t eat for an hour
Thank you so much for sharing this information without making me buy some sort of online course to get all the secrets! This has been very informative
This was SO GOOD!! I was not losing my mind. Thank you for the sharing the tools for me to live a better life.
i really like mel, but i hate how she acts shocked by this information when many of this has been public info for decades…
Thank you both so much for this precious information 🙏❤️ I learned a lot at 54 yrs young ☺️
I’ve been in this journey for about two years on and off, with obvious big life curveballs, but Dr. Stacy Sims is so inspiring that I keep pushing myself forward to becoming stronger, she has flipped out my life and mindset dramatically
P.s. writing it while doing my sprints on treadmill ❤
What about very low testosterone? Dr. Prescribed every other day? Negative 17%
Thanks Mel to bring those wonderful people! But, please let them finish their thoughts without interrupting.
Mel, STOP INTERRUPTING! LISTENING TO THAT ONLINE IS HARDER ON THE EARS THAN IN PERSON CHATTING, and it is RUDE. Have you stop that bad habit now one year on? I’ll check back in with you when that’s done!.
Nice guest, Stacy Sims, hope to read a couple of your books so thank you for your expertise. You turn a lot of established practices on its head. I’m not a coffee addict at all, but there are other fuel for the morning to explore. It might take me switching my circadian rhythm by eating between 9am-5pm or 6pm to be able to eat in the morning, and before exercise. Still intermittent fasting which works for me, but moving it all up to earlier in the day. 🎉
