I will be 57 in November & I am doing keto (I've been on it before & had great success) & I eat my 1st meal of the day at 11am & nothing after 7pm. So I have 2 meals & 1 snack. I am also eating whole foods & nothing processed & it's working great. I also use the keytone strips & they are neat to watch them increase in color. I also usually take 1 Free Day (which also resets when you are in a plateu) I don't go crazy but it keeps me losing weight. After you have Free Day you'll be surpised that you very well notice the day that you have lost weight. I use an app called Carb Manager & it's great ! You can manage your Macros ALOT better with it. Just what works for me & wanted to share ! Have a blessed day.
I had the food pyramid in the mid 80s . Taught me dairy was vital. 😂
I eat a lot of butter and olive oil. I really enjoy peppers and onions stir fried in coconut oil and I think it is an excellent little side dish with most of the protein and fat dishes I enjoy.
Very nice, informative discussion here. Thank you 😎
Ok to skip breakfast
Add fat-oil,butter
Avoid refined carbs-sugar
Cook at home
Mindset matters
I was a teenager in the seventies so I know where your coming from with learned eating habits . I've been 16/8 fasting for three months and only have lost 8 pounds I'm struggling with cutting out suger and coffee, tea ect without milk but have started counting carbs .it's crazy but I want the health benefits but I'm struggling to change my mindset .I'm not giving up and l know with practice and sensible changes I'll win
Hi,I am 75 and just been told I am prediabetic so I will be on ketogenic diet from now on!
Thanks for sharing such valuable information!
Hope you 2 are doing good, I don't see any videos made in a couple years.
crunch berries? yep then they made ooops. Thanks for all you information. It sure has helped me.
The food industry killed my grandfather with margerine and crisco and my mother with lowfat and eating carbs six times a day. It really makes me very angry.
You are right! I had to throw everything overboard that i learned in my life about food and eating. Now – although i am cheating often – i lost 45 pounds and feel better.
Dont take seed oils!
Yes, keto is beneficial for post-menopausal women. It is preventing endometrial hyperplasia (thickening of uterus with bleeding just like a period just when we thought all that stuff was over) from returning for me – the condition often becomes cancerous if left untreated. Progesterone decreases after menopause so the estrogen becomes dominant, so also taking maintenance/low-dose Provera (progesterone). (Was on high dose Provera initially, until the lining shed, then I switched to keto and low-dose Provera). Just had latest 6-month ultrasound to confirm the lining is still normal. Thankful for my doctor and an alternative treatment because the "normal" treatment is a "D&C" surgery or hysterectomy. It is all related and part of the female insulin resistance/estrogen dominance response along with PCOS/infertility from younger years. I wish we understood back then what we know now about the full metabolic syndrome — it is systemic. My life would have been so much different if we had known all this sooner.
I’m 63. I switched fr low carbs, low fats, hi veggies only to figure my brain was screaming for fats!! I increased a little carbs because I was only 45 kg the same weight I was as a teenager! I’m including grass fed butter, avocado oil (I don’t like the taste of the fruit tho), coconut oil, omega 3, nut/seed butters. Sourdough bread only. And including more salt . Sauerkraut. Coconut cider vinegar (a few times a week). All natural forms of vitamins.
👍🏻🥦👏
You can have breakfast🥓🍳… just have it for lunch or dinner!!!👍😁
cute doggy. Thx for the good tips on Keto
Good ole Cpt Crunch with crunch berries. Right on!
your dog is a cutie. He/she favors mama , sorry Keith, lol
Thank you both for sharing your journey with us. Keith I completely feel your pain. Unfortunately we are in the same boat with a messed up metabolism. But you inspire me to continue on improving my health. God bless you both for being so transparent and willing to give your testimony.
Skip breakfast 3-5 days a week and when you do eat it a couple of eggs and spinach with avocado and cheese or bacon. If that’s not enough skip 2 meals as it gives time to your body to use up your extra glucose and insulin. Eating fatty fish a few times a week at least with butter or healthy (avocado, olive, coconut) oil, lots of greens everyday, I actually make egg and tuna or salmon cupcakes for breakfast at times, so many recipes online. Deglaze and Use cream for gravy in the pan you made your meat in. No grain flours at all.
How long after your insulin spikes does your body stop burning fat? 2 hours? Or does it vary from one person to another? Thanks.
Dr. Jason Fung says that back in the 70's and prior, we ate (or skipped) our breakfast, there was no mid morning snack at school, packed our lunch, if we wanted a snack after school, our parents said " no, you'll ruin your dinner," and after dinner if we wanted a snack our parents would say, "you should have eaten more dinner" lol, that's why many more people weren't overweight.
Can you talk about how it takes longer to release weight with insulin resistance?
Excellent
Crunch berries😜 no more!
What if you have high cholesterol?
Your dog really loves mummy 🙂

When intermittent fasting, can I have cream, MCT oil or half and half in my coffee (will that break the fast)?
Have been following the 0,1,2,3 foods, some fasting, have lost 5 pounds but my cholesterol is the highest ever. Any suggestions?
I love the phrase “metabolic debt.” My wife and I really enjoy your videos.
Thank you so much indeed!
I’m late to this one. I just turned 50. Bless you both for addressing us wiser folks ! I think this definitely would have extended my grandparents lives! My aunt decided when my grandma turned 83 she would dictate what grandma should eat. She was forced to eat lots of grains, granted my Aunt like the rest of us had been misinformed about what is healthy, my Grandma quickly developed Diabetes 😞 Her health declined at an alarming rate! Unfortunately she is no longer on earth with us. Again , thank you! 🙏
Great video – Very useful.
Before starting Keto, I thought that skipping breakfast would be too difficult and unsustainable. How wrong I was.
Since bringing lots of good fats into my diet – and drastically lowering carbs – I'm hardly ever hungry.
Skipping breakfast is a walk in the park and I don't have my first meal until around 2pm each day. After only four weeks, I'm down to two meals a day, fasting on an 18:6 regime.
It's early days for me but I can definitely feel good things happening inside me.
Ma'am,you are the first woman I have ever heard willingly saying their age out loud.anyway good video as always 👍😅
This is amazing information and I love you two!
Bacon fat Doc,! I deep fry chicken in Lard!
What's a keto approved sweetener
Over 50 – thinking back going to the gym and having rice without butter and a plain grilled chicken breast! Munching on rice cakes and not seeing results and was always hungry! Now I can skip breakfast and sometimes lunch and have a decent Keto dinner and even a decadent dessert so much more satisfying and losing weight to boot!
Your dog is adorable ❤ he looks at Dr
Becky with so much love 🥰🥰🥰
That food pyramid killed my sister. She was terribly addicted to sugar and carbs. Died a miserable death at 55 from a glioblastoma brain tumor. Sugar sucks!!!
