  1. Gosh, something like this scares me because of my weight loss journey. I consume 1400 to 1500 calories daily, and burn 400 calories cycling five days a week, and about a 1000 calories cycling once a week. Im stuck at a BMI of 30.

  2. Love the video, but can you help us understand what someone who, because to bad advice, has both increased activity levels and reduced calories. I, along with many others in my community have not only increased our activity levels but instead we cut our calories too trying to “speed up the process” … clearly it wasn’t an ideal strategy and now we are stuck. How can we reset our metabolisms if “adding more exercise isn’t” really an option. We already all go for walks in the morning and weightlift at lunch… seems impossible for us to add a third exercise period 🙁

  3. save me from bowel blockage

help me im dying! i have a bowel blockage. Drs are trying to denying me care! i have a measly short while to live.

The drs are part of network of gossiuping people. im assuming the entirety of utah is against me. im completely in pain and mentally debilitated. im supposed to fast for a while. maybe the little bit of miralax poop water will push it thru before i starve to death.

ive eaten for 34 days. my large bowl is entirely filled up!

The drs are lying about my xrays!

Utah is trying to kill me.

I need a reasonable doctor to fly out to who will unblock me.

I could use tips on how to survive as long as possible. Eating minimally. Taking vitamins and nutrient.

Ways to preserve as much muscle mass as possible.

How to increase my chances at passing this.

Who could i contact to get help?

I got a ct scan and they said the computer was broken so they have time to edit the photos.

  4. Eat when very hungry, do not over eat, eat weston a price style… boom.
I fast 18 hrs, walk 1 hr, CICO r BS… I've tracked many times… The only thing that works is intuitively fasting and intuitively/mindfully eating, with an emphasis on STOPPING WHEN NO LONGER HUNGRY

  5. i am 48yrs old 6.2 height , i was 254 pounds 40 days ago , i started walking pretty fast for 1hr and 20min 7 days a week and

consumed 1600 calories a day(my BMR is 2100, TDEE arnd 2700) using a scale and lose it app. i reached 233 pounds and the last 2 weeks despite doing the same regarding food and

exercise i am stuck to 233 pounds , it's like my body thinks 1600 is my maintenance and i stopped losing weight. Never eat below your BMR which is the calories your self needs to function properly. I wish i knew better. The calorie deficit should be bellow your TDEE not your BMR

  6. Help. I am at a point where I gain weight as soon as I eat more than 900 kcal. I realy want to fix this to lose weight again but I am very scared of increase my kcal intace (because don't want to gain weight)

  7. I have def damaged my metabolism but I am so used to do OMAD. How can I get my hunger back so I’m not forcing myself to eat more.
I’ve upped my exercise. Now doing 10000 steps a day plus a few weights (did very little before). My weight is still stuck. It’s been stuck for 3-4 months.
I follow a strict ketovore diet. Drink 2-4L water a day (1 with electrolytes). 1 x coffee with tbsp double cream a day.
I try to eat 1500 kcal a day. 60/30/10 (f/p/c). Carbs are from small amounts of fruit, veg, dairy.
I have little stress and make time every day to go outside and meditate.

  8. Hi Thomas thanks a lot for this kind of videos.

In essence, does that mean that during IF days, one should eat around 2500 calories during eating time window instead of 3000 calories the rest of the week? this seems like a lot in just one or two meals!

  9. Checking this following your IG post. I think iv found my problem after 18 months IF in that iv plateaued. Going to add rucking alongside my barbell complex workout. With a 30kg weight vest il be walking around at my old weight.

  10. 35 M 5'11 300 lbs got my rmr and dexa today. 45%BF and 1250 rmr. I have been weight training and consuming around 2300 calories avg. Don't know what I should to fix my metabolism 🙄🙁

  11. When on a calorie deficit period. What kind of activity is needed? The same as in the calorie surplus period? I don’t have the same energy on those days :/

  12. This is why I hate it when people keep saying, "All you need to do is eat less calories. Not losing weight? Eat less." The problem is this is flawed science. The body is not a simple math problem, it's a biological problem with many different unseen variables as apposed to (Calories in – calories out = change in weight) This is like telling a poor person that all they need to do is get more money, it's not helpful, it's hugely frustrating, and doesn't address the underlying issues.

I started gaining weight around 2014. I went from 150 to 174 and started getting kinda scared. I was on proton pump inhibitors for acid reflux and didn't eat much anyway, so why was I gaining weight? Over the next several years I tried intermittent fasting, severe caloric restriction to where I was eating around 1,200 – 1,500 calories a day – WELL under my BMR of 1,800, and still couldn't lose anything. About a year and a half ago, I finally got to the bottom of my acid reflux issues and got off the medication so now my diet is roughly normal, but now how do I lose weight? I work out, I eat well, I don't have an emotional relationship with food, I just eat to get fueled. I don't drink soda or sports drinks, I rarely eat candy or junk food, yet I'm still 195 pounds and seemingly completely unable to lose any weight. If I drop my calories REALLY low… we're talking barely eating anything at all in a day, yeah I can lose maybe 5 pounds, but I NEVER dip into the 180's. When I start eating normal again, those 5 pounds come back almost instantly.

Calories in vs calories out is unhelpful, outdated, and frustrating for those who actually have a screwed up metabolism.

  13. I do this while I’m dieting and trying to lose weight if I am struggling with consistent exercise and eating lower calories. It’s usually me bargaining with myself – if I burn calories by working out I can have an extra snack or meal. Still in a calorie deficit overall but I can consume a little more and I feel more motivated to exercise.

  14. Thomas DeLauer this video is pure gold and should be highlighted ….. everyone needs this knowledge. Mr. practical application strikes again. Great work Thomas. Life can be simple with the right knowledge at the right time!

  15. Hi Thomas! What would be your opinion on the 3 day military diet? Similar solution where you restrict calories for 3 days then eat normal for 4 days? Fasting unfortunately causes anxiety for me where I can’t sleep and ultimately eat junk as a result. What’s your thoughts? Thank you.

  16. So in essence, this is reverse dieting. However, I’ve never heard the part about adding more movement. So instead of cutting calories, I should be spending 3 hours a day working out? This doesn’t seem realistic. Even if it’s spread across the day. Also, please specify the type of movement. I’m assuming it’s low impact like walking but I think that needs to be clearer that it’s not an additional hiit workout, or an additional heavy lifting workout, or even probably not an additional moderate structured cardio session, correct?

  17. Ty for the video! Love how you go into detail. Been using the orgain organic protein. But really thinking bout going to the sunwarior protein. On a other video you said to stay away from bcaa. Reading on the sunwarior that was in the description. So should I use it still?

  18. Decades ago I realized this concept and pondered it. Yes, you need a caloric deficit. However, rather than 'eat less and move more', why not eat more but exercise more to stay in a caloric deficit and yet not lower your BMR? It seemed like a no-brainer to me and I never understood why this was not promoted more to avoid tanked metabolisms. One book that really impacted me was 'Turn Up the Heat!' by Dr. Philip Goglia. This was basically his premise and it really made sense to me. I might have to read it again.

  19. But I exercise and don't eat enough to reach my metabolic rate and I still gain weight. I'm too scared to increase my calories. I'm scared of weight gain and exercise a lot and sauna a lot and eat little just to maintain. I am in my 40s and do keto. I don't have hypothyroidism. I tend to retain water so the sauna is the most helpful for me. I've been like this for at least 20 years.
    I'll try just increasing protein.
