Escaping Weight Gain: The Truth About Professional Eaters

The most frequently asked question eating entertainers in the mukbang, food challenge, and competitive eating space receive is how they manage to eat so much food without getting fat like Nikocado Avocado.

While YouTube eaters like BeardMeatsFood, ErikTheElectric, Matt Stonie and others have cleared the air on this topic on a number of occasions, the questions about weight management continue to roll in with their ever-growing popularity.

Having a history with food challenges ourselves and still producing miscellaneous styles of food entertainment on our eating show, we’ve been the recipient of the same questions so we’ve compiled clips from some of the most beloved pro eaters to answer the question for us.

We know this is a very different style video than our typical episodes but we hope this helps demystify how over-indulging can be manageable without excessive weight gain.
Thanks for watching and we’ll see you soon!
Much love,
-Pete & Nate

  1. Good message. I’m sure we’ve all noticed you guys don’t do big challenges anymore, and the truth is trying to live that way week in/week out is absolutely brutal. No doubt this is why Erik is the only YouTuber left doing huge calorie challenges regularly. Everyone else has either stopped making videos, or does restaurant challenges. There is a massive difference between doing an 8-10k calorie restaurant challenge weekly and trying to do 20k or even more calorie challenges. Huge respect to Erik for pulling it off, and to you guys and everyone else who has found a less intense approach that works for them.

  2. Basically, they have 4 secrets: daily diet, daily walking(A LOT, like 4-5 hours walking) and daily lifting weights(main focus is to gain muscle mass) and weekly calorie maintenance(take note amount of calorie you take and burn)

  3. Eric the Electric eats upwards of 20,000 calories in a challenge- he would have to practically fast the rest of the week. He has to puke. It's not like bulimia where they puke multiple times a day- puking once a week probably doesn't do too much damage

  4. you cant eat 15,000 cals in a sitting from fast food and then wake up in the morning and run and eat salad, number one you feel like shit your heart is still way fucked up from that cycle of abuse. I wouldn't be surprised if these guys edit these videos to make it seem like they're eating all this food. they never show their actual meal plan just saying vegetables is very vague.

  5. I can understand why these pro's don't get fat, I would consider them bona-fide athletes. I was just wondering how it's physically possible for the human stomach to expand that much. It's not like a woman's womb. The calories don't concern me, it's the risk of damage to the stomach.

  6. It helps to be YOUNG as well. We all know, (well, gen X'ers and older at least), that we could eat almost ANYTHING in any quantity, every single day, and not gain weight because we got a lot of exercise, and had very active lifestyles. No internet, jobs that required physical labor, lot's of outdoor sports/activities, and yes, back then, fat shaming was perfectly fine and even encouraged. The snowflakes today can't take it, and now we have an obesity epidemic. Well done liberals.

  7. Should be the default video for anyone with an excuse for metabolism and diet. The answer is simple. You just have to do the damn work and embrace the suck.

  8. So they’re incredibly dense people. But also like how long do you spend at the gym? I excersize and don’t eat much and I’m only getting bigger and denser. And I eat healthy.

  9. I hope you guys are healthy…. We want more videos but obviously not at the rate of your health

When I first saw your channel I was disappointed in myself that I didn't watch it Sooner because you guys are so underrated you guys are great the quality of the videos the pacing of the videos the food the device show everything is great and I don't know why you guys don't get great views….. I always watch on my TV so I never get to comment or like but today I came to comment on every single one of your videos because you guys deserve it

  10. Honestly… eating nothing but veggies and plain chicken/fish multiple times a week sounds like a living hell.. Just skip lunch a few times a week and youll only be a little fat.

  11. I'm not even a competitive eater but I do this too. Weekly calories over daily calories 100%. I eat ridiculously healthy and low calorie most of the days and save up all my calories for special occasions, like birthdays. This week was my mom's birthday and I got to get a dozen donuts to share with her. Next week it's my birthday. And I'm still meeting, or below, my weekly calorie goal for weight loss.

  12. There's a condition known as bulimia nervosa. A person eats a large amount of food and later vomit everything. That's why they don't get fat.

  13. There’s no way it’s simply just calorie management.. the question is how do they eat so much food in one sitting. Not how they stay skinny.

  14. Yeaaa just ate 3400 calories at a birthday challenge (lost ofc lol!) I was SUPERR big for like 2 weeks then my weight went back to normal but I actually lost more??? I was 138 but then I hopped on the scale I'm 136? Anyway, when I ate everything (no laxing I was out) I was 146

  15. They eat a weeks worth of calories in one sitting and expect us to believe the rest of the week they just reduce their calorie intake and exercise?
