I agree that food quality and eating habits matter, but I think we sometimes overcomplicate weight management by focusing on meal timing and small habits. Total calorie intake, sleep, physical activity, stress, and individual metabolic differences all play a role. A pre-meal habit might help some people, but can we really say it makes a major difference without considering the bigger picture? 🤔
Yeah! You nailed it again. ride on!… I don't eat any processed food. I eat a lot of organic apples
Am I the only one that felt Dr. Liu absolutely "mic-dropped" 🎤🎤 in this video. So many golden nuggets. Thank you.
1. Only plant food. 2. Eat only 10 percent of your total daily calories in fat. Low fat high carb is the only diet that keeps people healthy and thin. Every other diet is bro pseudo science.
Usually apples are sweet, but when you get a bag of tasteless apples try dipping the apple slices in balsamic vinegar. It is a healthier way of adding flavor.
Looking back on my weight loss venture. It was a a trip to Japan that opened my eyes. All the people were so petite, but there were packed restaurants everywhere. The people love to eat. There are food vending machines on the streets. There are multiple convenience stores on every block of Tokyo selling prepackaged meals. Food is everywhere but the people are skinny.
It seems to be a paradox until you examine what they are eating. The food in Japan is fresh and very high quality. Their 7-11 stores do not sell hotdogs, but fresh prepackaged meals that are better than you would get in many restaurants in the U.S. Fresh packaged meals are delivered every morning and the unsold meals removed. Their prepackaged meals do not contain any additives. Each inexpensive meal contained 9 or more fresh whole food ingredients. Freshness and portion size is the difference.
When I returned to the states, I started eating like the Japanese. I ate out of rice bowls for portion size and used chopsticks to slow my eating. I only consume whole foods with fiber. I drink unsweetened green and oolong tea.
Find healthy substitutes for your binge treats.
Ice cream: Put frozen bananas and fruit in a blender.
Pizza: Make a single serving of pasta and tomato sauce. I usually bake mine for added texture.
Potato Chips: Substitute popcorn – no butter.
Candy bar: Make a date and nut snack.
When I feel hungry between meals, I search for the reason.
Why do I feel hungry between meals?: Thirst, not enough sleep, not enough fiber in my diet, am I missing a nutrient?
Hi Dr. I've just subscribed 🤗. I actually watched your video on blood pressure. Thank you for all the information and help.
can senior women eat a lot of flaxseed? I heard it messes with hormones
Who else just randomly found Dr. Liu videos one day and had been watching ever since? 🤷
Great video. My family have changed our lives by going fully whole food plant based and no ultra processed fancy junk. My son had eczema that was serious all over him and after nearly one month of plant based lifestyle his skin is getting back to normal 🙏🏽💜🙏🏽🥦🥗🥗🥬🥬🥒🥒🥑🥑🥑🌱🥬🥬🍌🫐🫐🫐🫐🫐🍐🍐🍐🍍🍎🍎🍎
I don't have a more trusted source of health information than this channel. The transparency and depth you bring is rare. This led me to Your Body Wants to Heal by Dr. Sarah Kline and it changed how I think about my health completely.
I enjoy honey crisp apples, and golden kiwis with the skin on

Should I stop injecting insulin? I need info on that.
I have not eaten junk food, hardly ever processed and not fast food for years – not overweight but at the top of normal BMI – age 76 – now have cancer and am on a mostly vegan and raw diet and lower calories than when I was eating meat and more cooked food – not losing anything! I'm not hungry much and my food is top nutrient dense. So – no weight loss?? I know other people that eat very little and are heavier and nothing works.
So simple and so powerful, I love this advice!
Big apples I cut in half. I have eaten an orange a day for 2 years–including as much of the white pith as I can–bioflavanoids. My cravings are now for fresh foods
Please say pizza please say pizza please say pizza

Insulin is activated by carbs especially fructose, not protein and fat.
Food diary and I measure out every serving so I know exactly what is going in and keeping the control and focus on my meals. This has worked for years–then as I maintain normal weight and exercise I can relax these methods a bit. Also I don't eat sugar outside of fruit and no breads or pasta. No dead food.
