  1. I'm over 80kg at 5'. For those not in kilos, I was a good weight at 50-55kg (with little to no muscle though – skinny fat). I feel like I need to reduce calories a lot but if I do, it will be hard to gain muscle. I'm concerned if I only focus on protein and muscle gain that I won't make enough progress given I have to lose 30kg

  2. This video is so informative and made me feel more confident im doing the right thing for me. I’m 42 , 5’2 and 119lbs. I eat anywhere between 1400-1500 cals. Any lower and my hunger goes up at night. Close to 1600 on my period if I need to. ❤

  3. No one has discussed how to add your height on these calculators. I am 63, barey over 5' but at my tallest I was 5'4". The only thing that has changes is a shorted spine due to scoliosis and spine compression with aging. So what height do you plug into the calculators? I don't think the compression of your frame would effect how many calories you need. Your organs etc have not.reduced in size. Anyone understand what I am saying

  4. I am 16 years old 5,0 tall and I weigh from 132 pounds to 140 pounds I workout daily for 30-40 mins of cardio mixed with restance training I take protein powder daily in the morning and creatine I have been trying to lose fat since I was 14 please what can I do I tried calorie deficit and so many other things but nothing works

  5. 20% deficit for me is only eating 1,308 calories a day. I'm not doing that. I'd mess up my body just like I did the first 40 years of my life. Currently, I'm eating in the 1800-1850 calorie range. I'm 5'1" and have maybe 5-10 lbs of fat to release. I'm 125 and look best around 115. I have great muscle definition (I've weight trained for 30+ years 4-5 days week) and now at age 64 I walk zone 2, 5-7 days a week. My average step count per day is 13,000 as some days I'm 10K and other days I'm 17K steps. I do eat a Carnivore diet (6 years) and this works best for me. I've recently switched to 80/20 Carnivore and the higher fat has been a God send. I am seeing some body composition coming through. The only reason I'm watching this video is to make sure I do have my calories dialed in correctly. Also, I'm looking to move to a compound exercise program rather than 2 body parts/day routine I've been doing for decades. I like your style. I just found you. But you need to play around with the 5'1" and below woman who are out here struggling with being told to eat under 1200 kcals a day (or just barely over that). Keep up the great work!

  6. Umm I’m 5.4” and I have been on a 1200 diet for five months…it has worked but now that I’m almost at 60 km it’s getting so tight! Macro Factor keeps taking more calories away and I’ve not got the energy for the gym! 😢

  7. Wow! This is the first time I have heard a video for fitness that speaks to petite women. I am barely 5", 128.8,. I have been trying to lose weight about 5 to 7 pounds, still trying. I know it does not sound like a lot but it makes a big difference for me. I am 65, when I was younger my weight was 110-116. I am small frame so I don't have a lot of room for calories. Thank you so much for speaking to petite women!

  8. I am 5ft3 and I have been working out for the past 16 years. These calculators are really off. They would tell me to eat 1500 kcal/day. I would be constantly starving with this amount of calories. The best way to figure out your caloric need is to eat normally for a week and track everything you ate with an app. Then you'll find your caloric intake to maintain you weight and work with that.

  9. Michelle, this is gold! I am almost 48 years old, in perimenopause, and have been a long-distance runner for nearly 3 years. And also vegan and eat mostly clean. I'm not very lean, and want to lose boy fat, but eating less than 2k calories a day is almost not an option for me. I can't function well with it. Just started weightlifting, panicking a bit because I feel heavier, but I will just be patient. I went from high carb to high protein, but not low carb. I'll be back for updates 😀

  10. hi, thank you so much for this! bur I'm still kinda confused about what to do for a body recomp as a short girlie I'm a beginner, my maintenance calories are 1680 (I'm also 5'1, 51kg/112lb, and i lift weight 3 times a week, thinking on going 4 times now) i was told i should do a deficit for fat lose (I'm "skinny fat", have more fat that i should, but I'm not overweight) and that at the same time keep lifting weights, but then they i hear that is better to eat at maintenance bc a deficit would let me with too little calories to build muscle and i would lose some significant gains, I'm just scared that if i eat at maintenance i wouldn't lose fat, but at the same time I'm scared that if i eat in a deficit i wouldn't gain too much muscle (bc my body would be in like a "survival mode") 😢 i don't know what to do, if someone could please help me

  11. It’s extremely difficult to maintain weight loss for someone of my height 5ft 2inch
And worst is people don’t believe me
For 3 months consistently around 80% of the times being in a good enough deficit I achieved to lose 4 kgs
Now I know it could have been better however due to office and lifestyle sometimes I very hard to achieve that

Now I better start lifting weights to maintain my body better I guess 😢

  12. Omg thank you sm for this. My maintenance is literally 1600-1700 and I was soo confused because obviously I can't eat 1200 calories a day lol. I'm so glad I came across this video before going into such a restrictive diet
