Very good video. Lots of great tips!
I’m from Louisiana too! Love my community coffee and love Nola ❤ The struggle is real living here. We have the best food !
I just found your page. I have been doing this similar thing and I am 53 years old. I started cutting sugars back in July due to being prediabetic, but I crashed and went back to my normal ways after about two weeks after losing 7 lbs of water weight. Fast forward to November 3rd I started doing this again, cutting out added sugars and carbs as much as possible, lots of water and not eating first thing in the morning waiting 2-3 sometimes 4 hours and also walking and exercising. It has almost been a month and I’ve lost 9 pounds and already my clothes are looser on me! I have six pounds to go and then see where I am at…might even go for 20 pounds as well, trying to lose the menopause belly/visceral fat. I do slip up here and there but for the most part I’m making progress! I’m feeling better and more energy. Also cutting out alcohol for good has and will continue to help me as well, maybe a wine once a month but that’s it. Trying to convince my husband to get on board with this eating plan/lifestyle change next.
Can you drink Diet Coke during the first two week?
Rice?
Thank you for all the advice I'm in the 40's and I'M struggling with my health I'm gonna star step by step
This is similar to the South Beach diet
Hi, I am so inspired by your weight loss videos, I would like to ask can I have a tea spoon of honey 3 times a week in the first 2 weeks?
I knew you would be drinking Community coffee!! ❤️ I lived in Lafayette for 15 years! I’m going to start eating like this again!! Thank you for this video!
Coffee hack because I also love coffee throw in a premier protein shake as the “coffee creamer” love it
You basically did South Beach Diet…it’s fantastic and a great way to lose weight!
It’s interesting that bikini bodybuilders and thin/lean women in other countries eat rice, even white rice, everyday and aren’t overweight 🤷🏻♀️ For me it’s more the big things that make a difference, not things like carrots lol, more like not eating fries and pizza each week. 😊
I just turned 40. When I was in my 20’s I literally had no problems with weight loss. My daughter was born in 2008 so after I had her, I went on a diet to lose weight. I lost over 40 lbs and at my smallest was 137 lbs. I kept it off for 3 years before I started gaining weight back. As I hit my upper 30’s I noticed it became harder to lose it.
I love how simple and straightforward this is
I know what I need to do, but my husband is an amazing baker and cook and he makes, eats and loves everything that I want a break from😪 its so hard because I don't want to insult him or his family who are also like that. Back when I was single it was much easier. Life is so complex
Great video! I have been noticing that it is hard to lose weight (late 30s). And yes have a sweet tooth as well. Will try to stick with veggies, whole grains, good fats and lean protein. Going to start going to the gym as well but more as a after work stress reliever.
Daily harvest smoothies are great, in fact they are wonderful for making you feel great in the morning… but some of the bowls are vomitous. They are just damp, bland, hot goo. Maybe just make your own bowls but the smoothie is great!
You go girl! Just starting my journey. The last 3 or 4 years have changed dramatically for me. Here's to a new change.
Hi ! What do you think on baking your own bread?
Just saw this and sending to a friend but for anyone seeing this video I would like to backup the sugar part. Absolutely true. It takes at least a week of no sugar to stop the craving. Sweets are my downfall and when I crave I’ll eat a Weight Watchers giant fudge bar. I had a really bad case of Covid mid Aug (yes I’m vaccinated and boosted) Absolutely wiped out my appetite. Had to force myself to eat. Noticed after that I was no longer craving sweets. I’m 5’4” just turned 63. Most of my life I weighed 110. My job kept me running as an adult so really didn’t have to worry about weight. Unfortunately I developed a very large benign brain tumor around 11 years ago. Actually probably long before that but no problems until it was huge. Was misdiagnosed with depression for 3 years until 8 years ago it was discovered. Those 3 years I went from 110-220 day of surgery. In my head I thought I was still 110 (don’t ask. I was mentally nuts at the time) In hospital for 6 weeks and 2 months later when I was in my right brain realized I weighed 190. Started diet 6/1 and next July year later weighed 108. Don’t let myself get over 115 now. Lost it without exercising because for a lot of that time I wasn’t able. My tips are over time I changed my tastebuds. With all the diets it comes down to calories in vs calories out. Another tip it really does take at least 20 minutes for your stomach to tell your brain you’re full. Halfway through my meal I’ll casually put my fork down if I’m having lunch with a friend and realize I’m good. I’ll take the rest home. Eat slower. I guess I do my version of intermittent fasting because I really don’t get hungry until 1:00 also I’ve noticed that sometimes the more I eat the more I want so starting later works better for me. My personal secret is the Ensure max protein or premier protein drinks. 30 g of protein 150/160 calories. I’ll sometimes grab one in the morning if I do wake up hungry or at night if I’m wanting to eat. Start looking at labels. I always look at protein, fiber and sugar. I think women are supposed to have no more than 25 g of sugar per day. Sugar is hidden. Look at the amount in 8 oz of grapefruit juice and I buy the Pure brand. It comes down to how much you want it. It’s definitely harder to keep off now that I’m not working and older but I weigh every Sun morning. Most of the time I’m good about not buying the foods where I know I have zero control like Stacey’s Pita chips. If I buy them I’ll eat the entire bag at one sitting regardless of my good intentions. I no longer have kids at home and realize if you do this is going to be harder. I guess my final thought is the Mediterranean diet gets voted first every single year. I’m about to buy the book and try to make it a way of life because in my experience that’s what it comes down to. I’m not always good. Last week was my bday and my friends took me to lunch. They had called ahead and ordered the special dessert. I love chocolate but this pie is great. You can look it up. Recipe online. Soby’s white chocolate banana cream pie. Half of it was left over and I brought it home. I hid it in the refrigerator and within 2/3 days I ate it all myself. Hid it from my husband and gained 4 lbs last week. (I justified the hiding. It was MY BDAY LOL)
Sometimes I am sick of vegetables and never really liked V8 but I’ve learned if I’m hungry before bed 8 oz of that curbs my hunger and I’ve learned to like it. I’m a total foodie and because of my job and meetings have been to most of the top restaurants in the US but my dessert island food would probably still be pizza. In
high school I would come home and eat at min half of a large frozen pizza every single day. I would kill to be able to do that now. Couldn’t believe it but a pizza place in Columbia SC just showed up on the James Beard nominated short list. I texted it to my son who lives there to ask if he had been. He took his girlfriend that week and said it was the best he’s ever had. He showed up last week at 9:00 PM with 2 of those pizzas and I ate some of both and they were great. I wasn’t even hungry at the time. My last thought. The year I lost the weight I logged everything and did not cheat one single time. Not once. Not even one sip of alcohol. I knew with me if I cheated once I would keep doing it. I was in FB weight loss groups and started noticing the posts. All of these women would talk about what they were going to do to reward themselves at certain points like first 20 lbs etc and it ALWAYS involved food. I brought that up once and suggested rewarding ourselves with something else like a piece of clothing etc. i was blasted but I took my own advice. I saw a jacket that summer in a size 4 and bought it. I was at least a 14/16 at the time. Even today it is probably my favorite jacket.
Hey thanks great tips! im a 40+ and I’m your new subscriber ❤️
Thank you for this video. This really resonated with me and ‘reached’ me. I have been to so many nutritionists and their message just didn’t sink in. This was so real and came from the perspective of being human rather than perfect. The sugar cravings get me every time so it was great to hear your similar experience and suggestions. Thanks once more.
I am excited to begin this. I’m 45 and things just aren’t the way they use to be.
Do you have an easy, delicious, go to way that you cook chicken?
Hi there, did you have dressings with your salads? If yes which one’s
thank you for your video i totally resinate with the information you share.
I take prozempic. Helps really good to get over sugar cravings by stabilizing bloodsugar when you do eat something that hightens it.
We are very alike, I don't like counting calories and also have a sweet tooth so this video has been very helpful. I'm definitely going to try this, thank you Stephanie.
