Hi! My name is Susanne. I am a Christian mom of 3 over 50. Are you struggling to lose weight and feel fit and youthful like you once were? Me too!

My story:
Until I was about 45 years old maintaining my weight was relatively easy. For the past 6 years no matter what I tried I was not able to lose more than a couple of pounds and then I would ultimately gain them back. I felt very frustrated and hopeless.

Back in December of 2023 my weight loss game was changed when I started learning more about insulin resistance and other obstacles that I believe were making it very difficult for me to lose any weight over 50. I created this channel to help other women lose weight by sharing my experiences. I hope you’ll join me in striving to feel better at 50 than you ever have.

To date, I have lost 45 pounds in the last year and a half, the first 10 I lost in the first month and the last 10 in 3 weeks. My goal is to lose 50 lbs total which would put me at 125 pounds at 5’2″. Are you ready to lose the next 10 pounds?

Best of luck!

  1. I just found your channel. I'm exactly the same. 53 years old, 5'2" and want to get down to 125. Everyone in my life thinks I'm crazy weighing every day. But it keeps me on track. I got down to 128 a year ago and back up to 140. Your video has given me hope again. Thank you and I'll keep watching!

  2. Love your videos- much more real than the influencers and weight loss/ diet crowd. I relate to everything you say! One question: for low carb veggies, do you count the calories?

  3. Hey! Great advice! Sorry, I heard you said protein needed to have higher protein lower fat,…but then you said calories changed to 60% fat 40% protein. Shouldn’t that be opposite? 🤔❤️

  4. What have I learned so far from peri-menopause: I need to be very careful, can’t eat too much meat, potatoes, anything too starchy. I get a weird cough as soon as I eat bread, and anything made with potatoes so I avoid those foods. Now I’m so close to becoming diabetic. We have one body and mess around too much when we are young. It sure does a number, and I really should have been on HRT before I began getting ALL of the symptoms. Hormones control everything! I eat eggs, salads, fish, veg, and goat cheese, drink goat’s milk. Stay away, far away from CANOLA OIL, diet pop and any artificial sweeteners really. Canola oil becomes part of your being. Our cells use lipids, so choose your fats wisely. Our bodies change and so should our diets. Mediterranean diet is the way for me. I feel good doing it.

  5. Just take DIM. I dropped 30 pounds in my late 20s just taking DIM to control hormones with endometriosis. Granted, I had not hit menopause yet. Of course lean protein and vegetables and limited or no carbs is the way to go.

  6. congrats on your weight loss. The video would be much easier to watch. If you didn't have that clicking noise it's constant, it's the same type of sound when somebody smacks their lips while they're eating or clicking a pen, there are a lot of people like me that are sensitive to these types of noise thanks otherwise great video

  7. I have tried keto and now in my late fifties I lose zero. Even after 3-4 months. Yes I was doing it right and no I wasn’t overeating. Also working out. So this doesn’t always work.

  8. As soon as I see "experts" talking about crazy amounts of protein I'm always suspicious of what they're eating to get to that figure – and it's always laboratory protein powder (usually their own brand). If, for some strange reason, we all of a sudden as a society have to start eating enormous amounts of protein, but it's laboratory made, something's wrong – and it's not with us – it's with the greed of business owners who want to make money selling us fake food.

  9. Congrats on reaching your goals!! I'm so glad I came across your channel!! I'm 50 and 5'2" and I've been gaining insane weight in the past couple of yrs (at 170) & I don't even eat horribly. I also like to walk but not even that seems to help. You eat a lot of the same foods I enjoy. I need to work on being consistent. I actually have been thinking about going back to keto as I've also been trying to focus on getting more consistent with protein.
Do you exercise at all? Or are you just focusing on protein & fats?

  10. Thank you for this information! I am 56, post menopausal, 4'9" with too much belly fat. I feel like I hav a dad belly lol! But I have been using a calorie counting at that also tracks protein, carbs, etc. I have added more protein into my diet and try to stay below my allotted calories per day. Since my highest weight in May, I am down a solid 9 pounds. It's been very slow but I am happy to see my weight inching down. I still would like to lose at least 10-15 more. It might take some time but I know I will feel so much better!

  11. I agree. I'm 56 and 5'1 so I totally get it. I gained about 5 pounds going carnivore because I listened to Dr. Berry that said eat until you're stuffed, just don't eat carbs. Well see where that got me. So I cut back on calories are started tracking again and lost about 4 pounds. It's a pain going back to tracking again but since I mainly eat the same things daily then it won't be bad when I get to my goal of 110. I've got 3 lbs to go and yes, it makes a difference as a very petite woman. I desperately need to cut way back on the cheese because that's the extra fat I need to cut and I know it. I've been doing this for five years and since my husband is on the same thinking as me, we will never stop. Thanks for sharing your story, it helped me get even more motivated.

  12. I think it comes down to the fact that the medical industry has no idea how to care for women in menopaus. We are out here doing it ourselves and with other brave women like you to guide us on our way.
