  1. I keep seeing that beef isolate proteins shakes don’t count towards your over all protein goals for daily intake that only the whey protein isolates count, is this true? I’m so confused by it all

  2. What would you consider a high quality sleep. I monitor mine using my watch as it measures my awake, REM, Core, and Deep sleep. However, I don’t quite understand what is considered good or bad sleep.

  3. Really liked the focus on habits over extreme dieting. Strength, protein, sleep, movement and recovery all work together and having personalized wellness insights to understand your body’s signals can make it easier to see what actually works for you.

  4. I'm 20lbs. Heavier after going through some horrible life incidents…I'm ready to get my life back…I'm tired of being tired…making a change today…detoxing and starting today…I'm 61 and want to be me by July 3rd my 62nd birthday…here goes❤

  5. I just turned 58 and I swear the fat on my thighs and arms appeared out of nowhere! 😡 I can see my muscles underneath the fat. I only do 2 days a week for strength and 2 days of Hit cardio. I will switch to
3 Days a week for strength and 1
Day HIT Cardio.. It is so depressing to be eating right, lifting weights and cardio and the FAT Just Sits there 😢

  6. 67 year old male here. General observation.
To the point. The algorithm for my wife's channel suggested one of your presentations.
The information given is solid. The information given as far as exercise and nutrition has decades of results to look back on.
    You're doing a great job.
    Thank you.

  7. I agree with all steps.
However, I have such a problem with sleep.
I have tried so many supplements and all the magnesium’s and I am at a loss.
Sleep deprivation effects every area of life.

  8. You are really amazing in all of the knowledge you give to us! I do strength train several times a week, I walk everyday with my dog, I have started walking after dinner, I drink about 2- 16 oz IPA beers a week but just a few ounces a night… I can give this up. You made the case for me. (I already drink non-alcohol beers too.) I Don't do HIIT so I will start getting that in the mix. Thanks for great content. I listened while I did my 35 min of Level 2 spinning…

  9. Well here's the thing Rachel if you're lucky you will wake up one day and be in your fifties and or 60s and through the brain fog, joint aches, new "wonderful" things that your body is doing, funky cholesterol panel, crazy mood swings, and all the things that come along with menopause, I hope you're able to find this video of yourself saying what you would and would not do in your 50s and 60s, and I wonder what you're going to say to her.

  10. You need to address the over fifty 'pain' issue!!!!! As with so many of these videos, these tips assume you will have the body of a twenty year old when you are fifiy Even the pics are predominantly of young women. Chronic pain affects sleep, movement, exercise, dependency, food preparation, mood and can get worse as you age. Even the pain relief medications affect these things 'you' would do if you were over fifty and overweight.

  11. At 69,clean houses 49hrs a week, walk several mi after work, rebounding, NO alcohol 27 yrs, eat reasonably well, hysterectomy at 23. Still have 12+ lbs excessive weight in my waist. UGH. Also lift weights do resistance bands and free weight

  12. Gosh, after watching 60 billion videos on weightloss after menopause, metabolic health, strength training over 50…..this really basic video has inspired me. The information out there can be really overwhelming and it can all make me feel like giving up. But this video was really simple, succinct and makes it all feel easier. As a 55 year old retired nurse, I appreciate your calm demeaner and if I were ever in the ER, I would be so appreciative of your bedside manner and expertise. Thank you for eliminating the overwhelm and keeping it simple.

  13. Great video! I’m doing all of the things. What do you think of HRT? I’m experiencing bone mineral density loss, poor sleep and trouble building muscle despite adhering these healthy principles.

  14. I just do NOT understand. My grandparents NEVER lifted weights. They never went to a gym. They walked most everywhere they went. They had an afternoon glass of wine. They ate everything in MODERATION and if they overindulged one day…they cut back and ate sparingly the next. They gardened, and did chores. They weren't FAT, just avg size. They lived until late 90's. Never had olive oil in their lives. They flavored everything with bacon drippings. They ate more carbs than any YT channel on the subjects says to. They ate deep fried food regularly. So something is very strange that the folks back then didn't have to do any of the stuff being pushed today and were happier just living their lives, imho.

  15. Oh my gosh… lightbulb moment when you were talking about why an overall sedentary lifestyle decreases your sensitivity to exercise and increases insulin resistance. Wow.. I have a very sedentary job at a desk, and have recently gotten a walking pad to increase my steps during the day. After learning this I realize that it's really not just to increase the steps, but my body's overall ability to just function properly! Move more! I need to stop ignoring my apple watch's reminders to stand, lol… Immediately subscribed to your channel, signed a typical 56-yo pm female with an extra 40 lbs that just won't go away, lol…

  16. I keep my rebounder handy, so I can hop on it for 5-10 minutes, several times per day. It’s particularly helpful when the weather is not conducive to a walk outside.

  17. This is all working for me. I am in my 50's. I reduced sugar and carbs, switching to 100 percent whole wheat/whole grains (at home). I still eat carbs, just reduced and get whole grains when I can (with snacks, bread at home). I completely cut all sugary drinks, and I drink more water or flavor my water sotimes with sugar free or very low sugar packets (those sweetened with stevia for example). I increased my fiber, eat Greek yogurt almost daily with blueberries and a high protein granola, and do all the exercises she mentioned (strength training 2-3 days a wk), HIIT workouts or other cardio workouts, and I run outside in the summer (on the nice, dry days). I am losing weight and have more muscle definition developing. I started committing to these changes at the end of May and I can see a big difference now ( less than 3 months later). It does work.

  18. Since I turned 50 menopause hit and my sleep has been horrible ever since I’m usually lights out at 9:30 but sometimes it takes me an hour to go to sleep and then I wake up in the middle of the night and I am awake for two hours, so I’m putting in the time in bed, but I’m not getting my sleep. Nobody ever addresses that situation of I’m resting so am I getting some benefits thank you.

  19. The only thing I’m not doing on this list is the HIIT workout so I will add that back in, but my sleep is also a big issue. I don’t have trouble falling asleep. I have trouble staying asleep and I don’t know the fix for that. Once I wake up or get woken up, whatever I struggle to go back to sleep.

  20. This was so helpful to me.
I am 71 and am going to gently begin to do the things you have mentioned here. I already drink no alcohol, prioritize sleep, and try to get enough protein; but I now understand that protein needs to be spread throughout the day and why it does. Thank you. Hitting seventy years was like hitting a wall. I felt at 65 like I felt at 55. Then at 70, bam. Apparently that is a real, documented phenomenon that few doctors discuss.
What a joy to hear someone so articulate, knowledgeable, and with a beautiful speaking voice! Thank you.

  21. I just turned 50 and almost at the official menopause stage. Been doing weight training 2x per week for a year. I try to get 6000- 8000 steps through the day. I sleep relatively well and not everyday but most days I’m getting my protein. No weight has come off! I’ve gained like 20 in the past 3 year. I don’t know what else to do.

  22. 1. This advice works, assuming that the women in question are able-bodied. I have a hereditary knee condition in both knees which prevents me from squatting, lunging etc. I also have really bad Plantar's fasciitis in one foot and even though I got an injection and am doing PT, I still can't walk without pain.
    2. I'd love to get more sleep, but perimenopause is making sure that I wake up at 1:00 or 2:00 a.m. every morning and have a hard time getting back to sleep, even with doctor-prescribed sleeping pills!
So it appears that I'm just screwed. 🤷‍♀️😞

  23. I am over 50 years old with sleep apnea. I use a CPAP to sleep. I think my quality of sleep is deteriorating even with the CPAP. I am exercising every day and eating clean. Weight loss is not happening as it should. Any one out there with solutions? I am all ears.
