  1. The problem my aunt has with any diet that allows her to eat any amount daily is that as a food addict, once she puts something in her mouth, she can't stop. That first bite triggers endless binging during any waking period until she sleeps. So for her as a food addict, the 20-hour part is fine, but the 4-hour period turns into 8+ hours before she sleeps which begins the 20-hour fast all over again.
This has really screwed with her sleep schedule and made her feel like she's operating on a 30-hour day.
I'm looking for a modified fast so that when my aunt starts binging, the foods are less calorically dense, and considered just liquid during her feasting periods on alternate days.
No one seems to address food addiction in these videos.

  2. I used to intermittent fast. I started with you Diane years ago. I think it was 2015 and I lost all my menopausal weight. I was very happy I did that for 10 years and then. I watched some podcast with doctors saying that there’s no proof that it works yet I lived the proof and yet I listened to these doctors and started eating in the morning and gained all my way back so now I made a decision to go back to my intermittent fasting, cause I’m not happy with where I am now I am 57 years old now and I hope it’s OK just to jump right back into it

  3. Thanks for this video. I’m about to turn 56. I have been doing an OMAD plan since September. I have been losing between 1 1/2 to 2 lbs a week steadily. No issues. I did have one week of dealing with flushing a large amount of water because of a really high carb meal. After that my weight loss caught up. I make sure to get plenty of protein in and good fats to keep me satiated. I eat my one meal by 1 pm each day and I’m good to go, until the next day. I also
have one special meal and maybe a movie only on Saturdays, after my official weigh in. So far so good. I love fasting. When I hit my goal weight, I plan to incorporate two healthy meals a day into my routine. Enough to maintain my weight at that point permanently.

  4. I am 49, and I used to do 18/6 fasting, with a 24-hour fast once a week. I lost 22 kilos and had amazing energy. However, this year I was completing the fourth year of my psychology degree, which was very demanding, and I was also working part-time. Gradually, I stopped fasting, walking, and eating the way I used to. As a result, I lost the mental clarity, energy, and overall well-being that fasting, along with eating protein and vegetables with zero carbs and sugar, gave me.

I started to feel stressed, gained some of the weight back, and had very little energy. Recently, I started fasting again—first 16/8 and gradually returning to 18/6—and I’m now hoping to do a 24-hour fast once a week again. It really highlights how, when some of us are under stress, we tend to fall back into habits that don’t actually work for us.

I plan to stick with this moving forward, especially as I’ll be turning 50 in six months. Thank you for this video.

  5. Just found you. I'm going to start. I take Estrogen and progesterone. Does that help my insulin levels? Menapause began @45 yo. I'm 52. I'm in healthcare. Xray tech. I've worked in areas like cardiac and interventional radiology, but I don't know squat about hormones. 😂 Yet right? I'll learn. Thank you. This seems hard. But nothing worth anything is easy.

  6. I know you mean Well, but you cannot just say +50. i am 75, and I can tell you things change big time late 60 ties and we cannot use you advice. By just excluding people over +67 you are signaling that none of you take an interest in us, we sort of do not exist. All of you talking about this on the internet are too young to understand!!!

  7. Desperate perimenopausal woman here, 51 y.o.

I just discovered you today, and I'm commenting because I see that you have so graciously answered everyone's concerns.

I know a lot of people say they've tried everything but trust me, i am very disciplined and very dedicated. I've been fasting for 5 YEARS!! not only did I not lose the 10 pounds that I gained, but now have gained 20 MORE!! i've done 16, 18, 20, 24, 36, ADF, and periodic prolonged fasting.

From my research, i'm told that I have to go longer for stubborn.Weight loss. I am currently fasting 72 HOURS per week for the past 4 Weeks and still no weight loss.

I eat right, exercise, sleep well… Am I alone?? 😢

  8. I want to fast to level out insulin and glucose …. I’m concerned about that. My husband and I eat dinner usually around 4 pm. We do not eat after that, because of reflux and such at night. We usually have coffee when we wake up at 6:30 am, then eat around 9 or 10. That would mean we would usually be off food for 16-17 hours. Is that enough to level insulin, and maybe burn Ketones?

  9. I am a massage therapist,walk 2 hours everyday and doing my exercises as well……if I do 20 hours fasting I will collapse….
4 hours time you can’t take so much fuel in,maybe you looks skinny, but your muscles what is supporting your bones and holding your body together is gone for sure….. you falling apart!

  10. I forgot about the powerful feeling of sitting in hungry. I really needed this refresher, and I knew I could count on you, Dy Ann. Thank you for always being an inspiration!

  11. Id been trying to lose weight for years with no luck, until I found Woman’s Weight Loss Secrets: The Unspoken Truth eBook. Its a game changer, finally seeing real results and feeling better than ever

  12. I was all set to sign up for the 8/30 class, but then realized that I am unable to attend any of the live coaching times. Will there be other classes with different times? (I work M-Th 9-3 EST)

  13. How can I be in hormonal balance when I had a total hysterectomy at 52? I did not do any HRT as I was afraid of cancer. I'll be 70 in 2 days. I've been doing carnivore with a mix of IF since March. Took me 5 months to lose 20 pounds, and now I've stalled, gaining and losing the same couple pounds for over a month. My husband and I are walking. I have a nurse friend who says I shouldn't be fasting. 🤷‍♀️ I'm a natural faster in that I don't typically eat breakfast. I need to lose another 80 pounds, so this is getting frustrating.

  14. Oftentimes at hour 20 my blood glucose is still pretty high (90-100) and I have no ketones. OR I have JUST made the switch and blood glucose is going down and ketones are coming up. It seems like I should continue fasting since I finally have ketones and should be in the fat burning zone. I feel like I want to stay in that zone longer? But for how much longer? Thank you for all your very informative videos!

  15. I'm about to give up. I've done everything…literally everything (prepackaged diet programs, HCG, appetite suppressants, vegan, etc). I turn 57 in August and am just so tired of losing and gaining the same 30-35 pounds over and over. Add emotional eating (lots of stress) and I wonder if this would work. Your videos are great though…you clearly love helping people.

  16. You nailed it! Fasting for 20 hours is not hard for me, BUT then I eat emotionally during my feasting window. My 98 year old mother in law is living with me and it’s a toxic environment for me. I have to figure out my stress management! Ugh!

  17. I can't lose any weight unless I fast for three or four days with just water,, no calories. Even then I tend to gain it back. Then the next week it is three days of fasting again, just water no calories. No food and I get so Hungry. We Suffer for Beauty.
