Dr. Berg talks about skinny person who is eating junk food and sugar, yet because they are not fat thinks they can eat whatever they want. However, if you do a blood profile, you will find they have cholesterol problems, high A1C, prediabetic, etc. Yet they have a fast metabolism that can burn up lots of sugar. So they burn up fat but they can’t break down the cholesterol. Cholesterol is not used as fuel.

Overweight people and obese type 1 live longer. Being overweight is one aspect that forces people to change as compared to a skinny person who may not be as motivated.

  1. Donuts is literally the ultimate shitty grain sludge fat slave food. My italian immigrant father always work in the office or home and does have a sedentary life and eat these donuts while my self im skinny but i drink a lot coca cola while standing up. I also consume "mcdonald nuggets and potatoes" while standing up while my father and family members always pasta while relaxing and sitting

  2. I’ve been skinny for as long as I can remember. I’m 16 now, and I can’t take it anymore, because people have been commenting on my weight since I was six. Now I don’t wear anything that shows my frame. I hate wearing short-sleeved shirts because I hate the way my elbows look.

Before I dropped out of school, my uniform was a skirt above the knee and a short-sleeved shirt, and whenever I walked, I’d put my hands behind my back to avoid my arms showing. I’d wear hoodies every day and knee-high socks to try to keep attention away from my calves. I hate my legs.

I never wear leggings or any tight pants because someone always has something to say. I locked myself in my room on my mom’s birthday because I didn’t want anyone to see me in the dress she wanted me to wear. When I tell my mother I want to gain weight, she always has a problem with it.

  3. I've been severly underweight my whole life (now 52). I eat healthy, do bone broth smoothies, & excersise, imcluding free weights, etc.
Ended up in a hospital last time I tried fasting. Curious if I'm diabetic.
No insurance or doctor. Fun vid.

  4. When I was younger (I’m 14) I was always a bit chubby and then when I was around 10 I started on a med that made me obese and almost diabetic. I progressively have lost weight after stopping using the med and now I’m just super skinny and I feel like I’m getting even skinnier. My ways of eating or exercise haven’t changed and idk what is going on🤷‍♂️

If y’all are curious the med I was on was resperidone

  5. Im reaching that stage as a young adult where i no longer want to be this skinny buildbut damn is it hard to transition from it, but you learn a lot from it i guess.

  6. Im skinny and recently begin to eat healthy beacause I'm afraid to get these diseases. People would ask me all the time if i ahd anorexia bulimia. I loved sugar carbs. My mom would tell me not eat all that stuff. Didn't listen. I really hope it isn't too late im eating healthy now in my thirties.

  7. Thank you Dr Berg, I'm having a hard time gaining weight. I eat well, no junk food, take supplements, I'm active and kinda athletic, but I've got awful groin pain after losing 10 lbs in 2020 from 105lbs to 95lbs at 5'4". I've been to so many doctors I'm done with western medicine! My lumbar spine is my last hope (physical therapy) and I've just increased my Vit D3/K2.

  8. I literally eat so much in one day,my stomach gets a little big and then I take a fat dump and I don’t gain any weight. It’s crazy. Like ofc I make an effort to eat healthy-or at least do the best I can,but I can’t gain weight even if I wanted to😭

  9. Not necessarily. Some fats are essential for health, such as omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. They play a crucial role in brain function, hormone production, and absorption of fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, K). However, excessive intake of unhealthy fats, like trans fats and saturated fats, can lead to health problems. Balance and moderation are key.

  10. This is very baffling to me. I evidently got the fat gene and losing weight is a constant battle. I have worked with people who could eat their weight in food daily and never gain a pound.

  11. About 35 years ago, there was documented scientific research with conclusive proof that (1) Dietary excess is NOT the cause of obesity. Overindulgences including sweets and junk food do NOT make a person fat. People do NOT become obese because they eat too much or eat wrong foods. (2) Dietary reductions do NOT produce a corresponding, substantial or permanent loss of weight.

  12. Go see a TCM doctor . It’s down to a spleen qi defiency and or cold damp spleen or spleen yang defiency . Best tell take sign is a very swollen pale coloured tongue . This shows body is holding onto fluids .

Doesn’t matter how much you eat if your spleen is not functioning correctly your organs tissues etc won’t receive vitamins minerals and nutrients from the food you digest

  13. I know how too 😂 The 3 skinny people I know who eat bad, they are also shitting 3x more than others 😂. My wife is on the toilet 3 times a day, me 3x a week. I eat meat & green vegetables she eats everything 😅 Also, I know for certain, technically, someone who is storing fat vs pooping all day is biologically correct – dna is smart enough to pack on the fat in case of famine. Last person standing 🎉

  14. I eat bad right now. I have type 1 diabetes but it’s genetical. My cholesterol is always fantastic, my blood sugar could be better, but for what I eat it’s ok I would say. My bmi is 22.3 which is perfect. I eat a lot and I‘m not gaining nor losing weight. I‘m also doing sport, but even whenI did nothing it was the same.

  15. Do you have any tips for us hard gainers on how to gain weight though? You are right about the triglycerid, I checked a blood test I had done 3-years ago, where the only two numbers off were I had too low d-vitamin, and too high triglycerid. And I from DNA test know I have genetic fast metabolism and I also only weight 63-kg with a 180-cm height.

  16. I don’t get this explanation. Energy got by food-energy spent. Is there anything else? Organism does not waste energy. So how can we be the same initial size, consume same amount of calories, exercise the same, but gain different weight?

  17. I have a question, I'm on the thin standard size, I dont gain weight by just eating, but if I eat the same food and exercise I gain weight. So usually i'll be eating normally and not exercise and I'll stay at the same weight, but when I exercise suddenly I gain weight. I have not been able to find another person who is like that and can't really find any explanation as to why I'm like this. I don't eat junk food, I only drink water, so I eat pretty healthy ! I wonder why is my body working this way ?
