tomatoes, raw or cooked? i listened, but not sure if i missed it.
Three years ago I stopped eating red meat and processed meat. My cholesterol went down over 100 points!!! No more Statins!!!
Wow. This was worth listening to at 4.30am before I got out of bed. Thanks you Mel and Dr Li
I hear him, I do but if we are going to eat healthy we will need to change our palettes and practice acceptance. Menopause changes things and eat less move more simply doesn’t work.
I use a big 5 gallon water bottle and fill up my Stanley water jug, our tap water smells like a chlorinated pool, I can’t drink that. Where is a safe place to get drinking water.
In high school 42 years ago, I had gotten up to almost 200lbs. My mom suggested I start skipping breakfast and eat only lunch and dinner. At the time we didn’t know it was called intermittent fasting. I didn’t eat any more after 7pm.
I lost 100lbs.
42 years later, I now have high cholesterol. The weight had started to creep back. This time I knew about intermittent fasting and did so with keto. I lost 30lbs in 3 months back to my high school weight and my cholesterol has dropped 25 points. Im now 60. I plan to stay at this weight and maintain my keto diet. I don’t need to be gaining weight as I age.
Thank you so much for the information you have given us today. I will be making some positive changes ❣️
What to do with plastic water bottles, if tap water is even worse?
Not everything here is good or correct. First, smoothies are really bad for you, because people tend to overload them, use fruit juice which is pure fructose (sugar) and they consume too much so it's a massive calorie overload. Don't have chocolate with coffee on an empty stomach you will crash about a half hour later, add in some plain almonds or walnuts or a non-fat yogurt. Not all cured meats are the same, use AI to determine which ones are required to be created in a healthy way without coloring and preservatives. I live in Europe, and it is I M P O S S I B L E to buy things that are NOT packaged in plastic. All water here is bottled. If you get a Brita, guess what the bottle is plastic. It bothers me that he doesn't give an alternative to bottled water or good foods packaged in plastic. Also, you can't eat cooked tomatoes or tomato sauce if you have rosacea, it is a massive trigger. Don't eat pasta! Pasta spikes your glucose and eating it at night is literally the worst thing you can do for your metabolism. I can't believe he's even recommending it. If you want to eat pasta use it as a resistant starch. How to do that: cook pasta the day before, undercook it by one minute. Put it in the fridge over night. The next day, blanch it for one minute to heat it up. Overnight the starch will have crystallized and it won't spike your glucose. Cut out all refined white flour — no pasta, white bread, potatoes etc. I did this, I've lost fifteen pounds in four months. Walk after every meal, especially dinner. Just 15 mins. You move the glucose into your muscles and it will burn the sugars you've ingested during dinner.
I totally enjoyed Dr. Li’s lecture. Being a nurse I found this fascinating and enjoyable. Thank you so much for posting this.

Dr. Li is simply awesome! Great episode Mel! Thanks!!
Thank you for wonderful healthy information!
I love this!:so informative thankyou dr. lee.
What about Pure stevia? Does it also kill the bac in the gut?
All he mentioned majority ppl nowadays knows. The question is no matter how much healthy we eat the grocery stores are filled with chemicals & artificial there's no way we can find something really organic unless you have your own garden. everything we eat is fake.
I love how this focuses on adding healthy foods instead of just restricting everything. The tips about matcha and pomegranates were especially interesting!
Tinned seafood is an affordable everyday food in South Africa too
Such a great episode. Loved it. Thank you
Just wanted to say that the only "deli" meat that's not processed with additives, preservatives and glues is prosciutto di San Daniele. That's dry cured with salt.
Another great video
