Dr. Stacy Sims explains why calorie deficits often backfire for active women, breaking down the concept of energy availability and why most women are under-eating relative to what their body actually needs. You’ll learn why sympathetic nervous system drive, not cortisol or calorie counting, is what really holds onto stored fat, plus the simple timing fix that helps reset metabolic function.

Great information.. thank you for sharing!!! ❤
How about a 48 year old 5’2 woman with 32% body fat? I can’t figure out if I need more or less. I lift heavy, for me, four days per week plus walking 7-10,000 step per day, plus kids, etc.
Thanks! I love how I feel by working out! While trying to have patience with how long it takes for me to see the results.
which of her books address these concepts more in depth pls
Did @stacysims just say calorie deficit doesn’t work that well for women?? 🤦🏼♀️ then explain how I’m losing weight on 1500 cal/day 54 yo post menopausal!
I know why the fat won’t go… it’s all the melted cheese and sourdough. 🙂
Gosh! Dr. Stacy is SOOO chock-full of knowledge & speaks my menopausal body's 💓. Thank you!!!!!!
Hi Stacy, you mention that a calorie deficit might work for someone who is overweight, I'm curious where the line is between those it does work for, and those it doesn't? Like if someone has 30-40lb to lose, would they benefit from a stricter calorie deficit?
Hmmm, I lift heavy (powerlifting). I work hard but don’t overdo it. I don’t do much cardio. When I add calories I gain weight, even if I add them at a very slow rate. What am I missing?
If genetics determine whether one has belly fat then are we saying that those people can’t ever compete in figure competitions because they will never have ripped abs?
Water your plant Liz.
Really clarifying why true high intensity.
Finally, got some definition in my shoulders, whisg although my core is no longer a bag of milk, due to gained musclr mass, liftting and resistance training, progressivd overload and strength training, eating approx 30 g protein 3xdaily, work with circafian rythm; so progress slow but progress nkn the less; even at 65. Put a bikini on at the pool this summer first time in 31 years. Get lots of sleep anf recovery. H9gh protein breakfast and do not eat after 5 pm. I do 4×4 fast swimming lane swimmjng 5 times a week, front crawl and 4 minutes full recovery in between. Running on the spot for 45 seconds to 3 m8nutes, with recovery in between between; after wsnting to die!
I want to love you Stacy. But what about mostly active, overweight, perimenopause woman? You teach for active in shape woman, and I love that. What about the other, what 80%, maybe 60%? Of woman. What about the woman that was raised that running would make female organs fall out and lifting weight was a 3lb dumbell?
This vid hit hard 😅 cuz no matter what i tried my belly fat just stayed stuck and i was always wiped out. Turns out cortisol and all that was messing with everything for me too. The only thing that finally helped was to read Eat Like a Woman Protocol (by Loren Green). Gave it a shot and wow 27 lbs gone now flat belly no more bloating and energy all day. Feels like secret info nobody talks about. Worth it)
@DrStaceySims is my guru. I think I’ve been undereating for so long. 😔 I just can’t get rid of my bloated belly.
The "woMEN" with the longer torsos are called men.
For some of us a big breakfast doesn't work out too well with high protein all day.
Amazing
Iv been told I have high creatinine. Iv stopped taking creatine. The doctor told me to stop weightlifting even when I told him I’m not lifting heavy weights. I’m 60yrs post menapause over weight all my blood work is good, everything is good yet my creatinine is high and he told me to do cardio
My friend kept telling me to read The Forgotten Code of Permanent Weight Loss by L. Hale. I finally did, and now I see why everyone recommends it.
Manifesting never worked for me and I felt genuinely crap about it. Watched everyone else talk about it like it was second nature while I just sat there feeling broken. Took Vera Hart's quiz purely out of desperation, honestly didn't expect anything. Matched me exactly. Like, uncomfortably exact. Didn't see that coming at all. If you've been beating yourself up over this too, just try it. Costs you two minutes. ❤
They used have a saying- Eat like a king for breakfast, queen for lunch and peasant for dinner. This way we get out protein, fiber and our needs met with real wholesome foods when really need it and then its easier to on the body for a light dinner.
