I’m not surprised I’ve gained weight though this season. More in the description. ❤️

It’s not surprising to me that I’ve gained this much weight in the last 5 months. Going from leg surgery, to living out of hotels 75% of the time, to experiencing “happy weight” for the first time, to watching my brother almost lose his life and being by his side in the hospital… I’d be shocked if I didn’t gain weight.

I always knew challenging seasons would come and my weight would fluctuate. I knew this would always be a struggle of mine, so I’m not surprised or worried.

I know how to lose weight if I want to. The number on the scale or tighter pants don’t scare me. But I recently went up two flights of stairs and realized it wasn’t as easy as it used to be. THAT scares me. Anything that makes living my normal life harder because of my health or fitness scares me.

I’m proud of myself, though. Even while gaining weight, it was clear that I am still a changed person. I still consider my health and what I can add that will benefit me, even while choosing things that don’t. I still take the stairs if it’s three stories or less, prioritize protein and hydration, park farther away for extra steps and choose intentional movement, even if it’s my first time in a week or I didn’t eat well that day. I still WANT to move my body. I still WANT to nourish it well.

Even when my choices looked different, the person I’ve become didn’t disappear.

Some might see this weight gain as failure. I see the life I’ve experienced through it. I’ve had multiple surgeries requiring rest and healing. I had so much fun traveling, exploring and spending time with friends and family. I had one of the best summers of my life falling in love. And I’ve had one of the worst months of my life watching my brother in the ICU, experiencing the ups and downs of his health and staying by his side as much as possible.

What a journey! If weight gain is the result of it all, I’m okay with that. I’m ready to prioritize my health again after it’s taken a backseat recently. And I’m excited to share this experience with you while I’m getting back into a healthy routine that works for my current lifestyle!

Thank you for being here! And this is your reminder to be gentle with yourself. ❤️

  5. Don't kid yourself. You're on a slippery slope. No excuses are good enough. Pull yourself together or it gets out of control before you know it and you'll be back to zero. All the effort and pain for nothing. I'd start with a 5 day water fast just to see whether I still got what it takes.

  6. Thank you for sharing this, because I’m in a similar position to you, very similar.
So going forward we’ve got this girl ❤ it’s a sideways step and not a backwards step, never a backwards step. ❤
Let’s look to the future ❤❤

  7. I am so glad to hear your brother made it through. That is such an emotional thing to go through on all sides. It wasn’t anyone’s fault. You’re doing exactly what you’re supposed to be doing. ❤

  8. I had some surgery weight gain, so I hear you. I had a lipoma removed in April. The hospital gave me MRSA and I couldn't walk at all from June until the beginning of September. I had to rely on others to hand me food, so I couldn't be too picky. I'm back at it and the numbers are going down again. I've been working out since the beginning of September. On Friday, I jogged for the first time in over a decade. I'm stronger and healthier than I've been in years. My immune system is stronger. My nervous system is clearer and working more effectively. My digestion is better. I weighed less in April, but it's okay. I'm more determined now than I was then. ❤

  9. Head up feet forward what you have done is amazing. It's ok to have set backs and surgeries are no joke babe. Give yourself grace. Travel is worth it happy weight is worth it. You will get BK on track love

  10. Dont worry it will come off..give yourself a break…its a struggle when loved ones are hurting..i know ive been there with 3 family members with cancer… but God is faithful..he knows you and your brother by name! The bible says in Jeremiah 30:17 " For I WILL restore health unto thee and heal thee of thy wounds …saith the Lord".. put all of it in God's hands..

  11. The good thing is that you recognized you’ve gained weight you were honest with yourself and now you are ready to course correct. You have changed your mindset and that’s a big deal!! You can catch it early.
