Staying motivated when you’re actively losing weight is one thing — but how do you keep going when the scale isn’t moving and weight loss isn’t even the goal anymore? In this video, we’re talking about how to stay consistent in maintenance, long after the “exciting” transformation phase is over. We’ll cover how to find motivation without the scale, why weight maintenance requires a completely different mindset than active weight loss, and how to keep your healthy habits a true lifestyle instead of a temporary phase. This is for anyone navigating life after weight loss, working on food addiction recovery, or simply trying to maintain sustainable, long-term habits without a number to chase. Because staying healthy isn’t just about getting there — it’s about staying there.

  1. Next year, I want to learn how to maintain my weight loss and continue to explore new healthy meals and habits instead of focusing on weight loss.

According to my medical records, I’m the lowest weight I’ve been in 5 years and if I continue to lose a little bit more, I’ll achieve my reoccurring news year’s resolution since maybe year 2021! However, this has come with a cost. Sometimes weight loss has felt like a sport or a project and it’s been at the forefront of my mind all year! Workouts, getting my 10,000 steps, salads, saying no to a lot of food and a few events, food prep.

I’m afraid of going back, too! That would be sabotaging so much progress!

  2. Great message. I needed to hear this and you are doing great don't let others pull you down. I have learned this and I have stopped looking in the rear view mirror

  3. I am in the same situation as you right now. For me, it's work stress. I can't work so much and lose weight at the same time right now. That is too much stress. So I decided to eat as healthily as possible, get some exercise, and maintain my current weight. Then we'll see where we go from there. The fact that I’ve allowed myself to take a break from losing weight has relaxed me and gives me the opportunity to focus on the upcoming work first, because I don't have to fight too many battles at once.

  4. Great advice as usual, i loved it. Tonight (for me) i just wanted you to know i was listening to you on my home, in my car, we drove with and then passed a train. Didn't see any animals, its dark out so thats a good thing.

  5. Hi Carrie, I’m curious if you ever considered GLP-1s. You may have said and I missed it. I’m curious because I just started Wegovy. I feel like it’s not going to make me lose weight but it’s going to support me as I change how I eat, especially serving sizes. I love how you said all the self care we do matters just as much as losing weight! I’m not focusing on losing weight right now, I just want to see how this medication affects me and that’s good enough for now. I decided to try the GLP-1 because I lost 20lbs this year and gained 12 of it back. It was a lot of work! And I don’t want to keep doing that if there is a smarter alternative.
